Just noticed that the front bumper cover has a removable piece (where the license plate frame mounts). I’ve noticed a couple YouTubers cut their bumper covers here so they can mount an after market bumper.

Is this an update?

OK, I'll say it. I like the roof rack. And I like the blue. Not as much as white, but it looks pretty good.

2019 vs 2018

So what do you think, should I buy a local 2018 in Cav Blue or wait the 3 months on a super white Pro I have on order? Deal is for blue is on the table for Monday?

If color doesn't matter to you one way or the other, this (below) is the only thing you need to decide on to make your choice. Well, also the 3k increase in the msrp of course.

In my case the driver was 1) the color then 2) no sunroof and of course 3) that rack, so mine was a no-brainer.

Call me crazy but the rack looks perfect to me. I also don't think anyone who opt for a PRO would likely modify the suspension so that fox shock is a no-brainer to me.

you must be new (er than me) around here. IMO Bilstein/Fox is a push, and i'm plenty happy with the Bilstein reputation.

The rack issue was not insurmountable to me a trade would be very fast/easy with plenty of intrest, that's why it was #3 on my list.

Pro owners flocked to modify their suspensions. It was too soft for hard riding off road. The first ones had issues that Toyota just said was part of the package. Look up some Youtube stuff for the real fun. Maybe the newer crowd already knows about the soft suspension. I love the look, but would opt for a lower model and upgrade myself. Still, very cool package.

PS Don't misunderstand, I'd take one in a heartbeat, and I'm very jealous....with rage even. Darn you TRD PRO owners. Ha!

I'm newer to forum in terms of posting. But who cares. From cost prospective I cant imaging anyone would spend the money on a Pro and rip the factory suspensions out to modify - why not start from a offroad/offroad premium then? Unless you want to build on the PRO exclusive color base but that's lots of money to throw. Hopefully you get my point.

I get the soft feeling and I think you and I are on the same page here as you "would opt for a lower model and upgrade myself". That is exactly what my point was. Why did I spend 50k on a Pro then still not happy with the suspension that it came with. Pro owners who then spend more money removing/modifying the Pro package are hard to understand IMO - as we know Offroad/offroad premium is basically the same car as a Pro except the suspensions and other cosmetic stuffs. Hey at the end of day people do what makes them happy.

I jumped in and tried to help a guy who was debating on getting an '18 or a '19 and used a very small part of one of your posts (Yes - Sunroof, JBL) to help whittle down his decision process, that's all. You've taken it to places that don't make a lot of sense to me but that's cool. What you are saying about modifying the trdp suspension makes sense to me, in fact I will not be touching mine at all, but to say nobody will do it is very easy to prove false, just look around, hence the "new" joke that I included myself in. Your new 4r looks great.

I was only speaking to the originals a few years back. I was able to drive one, but the lack of moon roof was a deal breaker for me. The on road suspension was not to my taste, but that doesn't mean much. I put money into my 4th gen instead, but this years release with the added roof is tugging at me again. Waldo's Black one has me droolin', and if I hadn't just bought a new GTI for the wifey, I think I'd be test driving one at least. If the body roll was reduced from the original, I'd be okay with it. Not a knock on anyone's rig. I personally drive a silver one and hate the color, but it was the only low miles one 6 years ago when I updated from my '02. My daughter loves the Voodoo blue, but the wife hates it. Go figure. Cheers All!
