You can't wait for the spring,lol, you have to go to the car wash after every snow storm.

I did that...but what I was saying is that I'd do a complete high pressure undercarriage wash by hand with my powerwasher in my driveway every spring to completely clean the undercarriage and get rid of any salt that got trapped in the many crevices under my 4Runner. The power wash at the car wash, in comparison, is nothing but a quick undercarriage spray. I'm sure it helped, but my 4Runner still rusted all to hell despite the best possible preventive care I could give it. My brother's Grand Cherokee is a thousand times better as far as not having undercarriage rust and he never even washed the damn thing.

I know in Canada it is very common to have a car's undercarriage sprayed with a type of wax to prevent rust. I have used a product called Noxodol which makes a cavity wax. it has a long plastic wand with a nozzle which you can snake into doors and tailgates, etc.

Maybe that's what I needed for my 4Runner.

I just buy the cans and lay a tarp down and spray the heck out of it. There are other ways to apply it also but the cans work for me. One day I will coat the inner frame with the Eastwood internal frame coating. I used that stuff on my FJ62 and it works great and seals the inner frame rails.

I came across the 4 Runner when I was cross shopping a JK Recon, JL Rubicon and even a GC TrailHawk. I like the utilitarian nature of the 4 Runner. I've had an FJ and 4 JK's. I don't think I want another JK. I either want a JL Rubicon which is having many 1st year hiccups. The 4 Runner is definitely not the prettiest vehicle out there. I found an '18 Cavalry Blue. I was thinking of taking a look at it this week, but having a better suspension and better sound system I think I may wait.

I plan on using this for long distance traveling with my dog. Some camping. Even some sleeping inside. I look forward to learning about the 4 Runner.

I didn't notice any headlight upgrades. Are there any aftermarket options. I know the pre '17 Wrangler headlights were damn near dangerous.

Someone previously said that 4runner has too old design/technology to incorporate the new stuff. BUT, the Land Cruiser has had it for past 2 years and that thing came out BEFORE the current 4runner.

Land Cruiser is the flag ship, and needed to be upgraded with it based on price. The 4Runner will likely get it with the 6th Gen.

It doesn't drip unless you goto heavy applying it. I don't avoid the rain but I do drive it after applying it. Dirt will adhere to it and coat it which helps keep it from washing off. Would be best to drive down a dusty dirt road after applying it.

My wife has had 3 JKUs now.
Same set of Delta lights in each.
Worst stock lights I've seen for years

Any pictures of the 2019 4runner interior? From the exterior is looks like the 4runner finally gets LED fog lights and curious if it gets the new 7" radio screen as well. And if that will be for all models, not just the TRD pro,

I wouldn’t want to drop $50k on a new vehicle that is really close to 10 years old only to have a new Gen come out a year or 2 later.

In the mean time, I love my 4Runner. It drives like day 1 when I bought it 5 years ago. However, I won’t trade in for another 5th Gen. It just doesn’t make sense for me personally. Hopefully I don’t do something stupid between now and the 6th Gen but my eye has been wandering...

I really just don't understand why it matters that the vehicle is 10 years old. The powertrain has proven reliability. The fuel economy is reasonable for the vehicle size and weight. It maybe could have tighter handling and a smoother ride, but that is expected with BoF construction What does being "new" bring to the table that is better than proven reliabilty? What am I missing here??

My guess is no, but it's worth getting a SR5 or off road for thousands cheaper and then getting a real suspension aftermarket.

when you add ginormous tires and lift it you should prob regear and add front and rear lockers. That's how I would do it. Or just buy the offroad if you only want a factory locker in the rear. The offroad is the same vehicle as a PRO but it doesn't have the ridiculous price tag or appearance package items...Oh, edit, and the "fancy" paint color.

I didnt know you could add lockers aftermarket...is that a pricey installation? Would doing so kill the future resale value of the 4R?
