2020 JBL. 15 speaker's?

So is it confirmed? Is the JBL stereo in the new 2020 model, different from the older 2019 and prior......

Hi All, bringing back an old one here. I had a 2018 Limited and the lease was up so I went with a 2021 limited nightshade. *by my ears* the 2021 JBL system is much improved over the 2018. Its louder, produces more crisp, clean details at higher volume, and has more punch. the differences were immediately noticeable, too. not subtle or small differences, IMO.

I have had a lot of aftermarket audio systems in my vehicles over the years. I’m good friends with the audio store owner and the installer. I know this from experience one time over the years ago in my Tacoma. My installer hooked up everything with Headunit and amp and sub and my speakers did not come in yet so he just used the factory Toyota speakers temporarily. Well we were both impressed how those cheap Toyota speakers sounded because I had much more power driving them then Toyota has with there headunit. So now I’m curious when I get a chance to talk with them about if I could run a amp off my JBL headunit to power the speaker and sub more. Also maybe checking to see if I also can add another sub and have 2. Even tho my 2020 Pro JBL sounds descent it still needs more power to drive those speakers. Anyone wants to chime in on there thoughts.

Typically, stock speakers sound pretty good because they are running so hot. They cant accept much power so they are running "near max" even with the head unit running them. My hunch is that your afternarket head unit would blow them out in no time.

Not sure about if it would blow out the jbl’s. That’s why after I speak with my audio guy he probably will know if I should do it or not. My guest I think the JBL’s speakers can handle more than your stock Toyota speakers.

Would not surprise me if they could. worth looking in to for sure!

Got a '21 Nightshade and couldn't agree more. My 2003 GX470 ML system sounds like a million bucks with any genre. The JBL is thin unless you feed it hip-hop since it has no mids...

You think the Toyota systems are “sandbagged” (intentionally leaving a noticeable performance/quality gap) so Lexus models “shine” in comparison?
