In the setting menu you can also set the background from white to dark which helps, I believe there are other adjustments in the settings menu that may also help with the brightness.

2020 SR5 pre
Purchased on 26-Jan with 50 miles, then took it on a 2500 mile jaunt to Bozeman, Jackson, SLC and back to Seattle. Great ski rig. Very comfortable on the long miles. Cruises at 85 with 18mpg avg. No squealing brakes, Apple Play works great, call quality is great on both ends. Headlights? Worked fine on highway 153/20 out to Winthrop...AKA "deer kill alley". Net-Net: I love this 4Runner.

I found the stock headlight brightness to be okay, but I did was add Hikari LED bulbs to the stock housing. Much better brightness. Ran the same bulbs in my 2011 Land Cruiser and 2012 4Runner, but with the projector type housing for the low beams, the focus on the 2020 is 10x better. A highly recommended upgrade!

Totally agree with proclip. Have used them in several vehicles to include the new 2020 4runner. Along with the proclip I use a bike holder: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0746HXWM9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to hold the phone.
Door rattling
One item I have noticed is lower door panel rattling when listening to music with any sort of bass at all. I could put dynamat or something similar in the panels however it shouldn’t be necessary on an oem stereo. Seems Toyota didn’t account for any bass in the doors at all. May take it to the dealer and see if there’s a TSB or something.

First drive home was on a rainy night. The nav screen was maxed and blinding. Had to pull over and find the dimmer switch - it was maxed.

Buy the dash daylight sensor and never worry about using the dimmer switch. $70 on ebay, 5 minute swap.
Worked on my 2020 SR5 Premium. I keep the headlights in the "On" position all the time, since they automatically turn off when you park & lock the car. Simple quality of life fix. You can find the part number in the "$5 mod" thread.
Coming from a 16' trail to a 20' TOP, the tech upgrades are nice but I have them turned off, I enjoy the larger screen but the integration is a step back from the old style. My texts come through as unknown with no contact info randomly and when playing Spotify the band info is super basic with no picture unlike my 16'. The brakes have squeaked since day one, whenever the truck sits more than an hour or so in any kind of weather. I like the buttons for the rear window instead of the key but that's just a feature thats catching up to the Limited. I love the truck but realistically I probably should have just kept my 16'

Not sure what bulb he went with but here's a comparison showing H9's along with plug play H11 halogen. many others but they all sucked or had issues

It does work, just not with the $5 sensor. It's a different plug that runs $70ish on ebay currently. The part # is 89121-30020. The upshot is that it now works on the SR5P were the older ones did not without extra wiring.

2020 Venture in Nautical Blue, 2500 miles so far.
Thankfully my breaks don't squeal, no issues with CarPlay but the call quality is hit-or-miss.
Biggest issue is the hood scoop throwing reflections right into my eyes, but I have some black matte vinyl coming in a few days to fix that issue.
I love the grey rims because when they're dirty they just look darker grey.

I've had my 2020 TRD Pro for 3400 miles and exactly 30 days. I love this truck. Its a nice combination of tech, off road capability, on road comfort and stock looks. Now I'm coming from a Jeep Rubicon so it didn't have any tech, on road sucked and I had to spend $10K to get it to look the way I wanted to. Things I don't understand though.
1. After remote starting, why the hell does the 4R turn off when you unlock the doors?? Please tell me there is an actual reason.
2. And equally annoying is why can you unlock all four doors when opening the passenger side door, but not when opening the drivers??
Are there any ways to override the 2nd complaint??

You can change the touch unlock on the drivers side to unlock all doors, I can't remember exactly what I did off the top of my head. I read about it in another thread, something to do with holding lock+unlock on the remote for 5 seconds? Definitely confirm this elsewhere.
No clue on the remote start, my poor SR5P lacks this functionality (not that I miss it).
1. It was explained to me it's to prevent someone from being able to leave with the car should they open the door since the vehicle can be driven even if a key is not detected in the car once it's running. Though my wife's murano won't let you drive until you press the start button and a key is detected, so that seems like BS to me. Related, I noticed that the car does NOT shut off if you open the hatch. I haven't yet been ambitious enough to climb in through the back to see if I can drive away without it turning off.
2. See below - I'm 99% sure you can also program the same thing through Techstream which is what I believe I did since I have it setup that way and don't recall bothering with the key beeping stuff.
