That’s correct...just the halogen upgrade.

Upgraded to H9’s for lows (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YMPN3A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and 9011’s for highs (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C8XRHS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

Is is as effective as HID’s or LED’s? No, however it does provide a lot more lumina which provides more light at night. It fits my needs at a very reasonable expense.

Buy the dash daylight sensor and never worry about using the dimmer switch. $70 on ebay, 5 minute swap.

Worked on my 2020 SR5 Premium. I keep the headlights in the "On" position all the time, since they automatically turn off when you park & lock the car. Simple quality of life fix. You can find the part number in the "$5 mod" thread.

I have the limited which comes with the sensor (from my understanding).

Just purchased a 2020 4Runner Limited.

One thing I've noticed is the front bumper of the 4Runner has to be extremely close to an object before the sensors start to beep. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm afraid that I will run into something before it starts to beep...

Speaking off proximity sensors I noticed that my Limited front bumper only has 2 sensors (one located at each side), not sure why they didn't do the standard 4 sensors like other manufacturers? Pulling in straight into a parking spot I have to be careful not to hit anything since there is nothing to warn me, backing out it's fine since I try not to get close to the red line in the backup camera.

After almost 8K miles brakes still squeal everyday regardless of weather condition, at this point I am thinking there is something wrong with the pads so when I do my 10K service I will ask to have them take apart the brakes and inspect them instead of them telling me it's related to the weather.

Maybe a minor nitpick, but I don't like how the radio boots up within a few seconds but the volume knob doesn't do anything for about 10 seconds. There's times when I've had the radio kind of loud, then I get back in with family or coworkers and it's blasting. I'm cranking the knob for what seems like an eternity before it works.

It's that warning screen. No clue why you can't adjust volume while it's on.

Small complaint but my GMC Sierra had a sunglasses holder in the perfect spot right by the mirror in the center of the windshield, the 4Runner does not. I also find the Warning screen on start up pretty annoying, my Sierra did the same thing.

1. It was explained to me it's to prevent someone from being able to leave with the car should they open the door since the vehicle can be driven even if a key is not detected in the car once it's running. Though my wife's murano won't let you drive until you press the start button and a key is detected, so that seems like BS to me. Related, I noticed that the car does NOT shut off if you open the hatch. I haven't yet been ambitious enough to climb in through the back to see if I can drive away without it turning off.

2. See below - I'm 99% sure you can also program the same thing through Techstream which is what I believe I did since I have it setup that way and don't recall bothering with the key beeping stuff.

Anyone else experience what seems like moderate vibration when getting on the gas? Feel it in the pedal above 2k rpm up past 3k. Or is this just symptomatic of this old platform.

I have '20 ORP:
No Sunglass holder.
No auto dimming screen--I still cant believe Toyota put dummy the light sensor.
No grab bar on second row. Kids have hard time getting in and out.

FWIW... I use the small pocket in the door, right below the window controls to hold my sunglasses.

It is available and it is techstream/carista only also, or through your dealer. I haven't tried that feature because I don't entirely get the purpose of it, but it is a thing and mentioned elsewhere.

I haven't used Carista, but from what I've read it's very simple to use and pretty cheap. The cable with a bootleg copy of techstream is only around $25 as well on both Amazon and ebay but the techstream software can be a PITA to get working correctly.

I used Carista on mine yesterday to program this function. Now, I hold down unlock and after a small delay, the front/rear passenger door windows and sunroof open. The rear hatch window does not go down.

However, they do not go back up unless you use the key. But with the key, they will all (including the rear hatch window) close back.

This is a great feature and I have had it on other vehicles. It helps cool off the inside really fast.

Im not familiar with Carista. I guess I can learn about it and Techstream too.

Why wont the dealer engage this feature if it's available???

Maybe because the typical driver will get confused and not understand why all of their windows rolled down in the rain "for no reason" just because they unlocked the car. I do wish the windows would roll up with the remote like Audi/VW, etc. Actually, I think the dealer will reprogram most of the options upon asking. I also got rid of my seatbelt and open door chimes.

It is a violation of federal law for a dealer to defeat a mandated safety device. The chime is mandated in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and they could be fined quite heavily if they turned it off.

Nothing keeps an owner from turning it off although I can't imagine why you would want to.

In addition, some states check for the chime during their periodic safety inspections.

Audi/VW does not allow you roll up the windows via remote. Again the FMVSS preclude this except in very limited circumstances (within 6 ft IIRC).

The reason for this is because a child/animal could have a body part hanging out the window and the auto stop could be defective. Accordingly, by either not allowing this (or withing eyesight - those 6ft), you are possibly reducing injury.

VW/Audi and some other cars will allow you to roll up the windows using the key in the door lock - turning towards lock and holding for a few seconds rolls them up - towards unlock rolls them down.
