2020 TRD Pro Updates - Army Green & Push Button Start

I didn’t say you don’t know how to use computers. I said that early 80s kids grew up in the age of [instant] information. Having a computer class in 1983 isn’t the same as doing research for high school papers on the internet instead of checking books out via the dewey decimal system.
Don't know if anyone linked this yet, but I may have stumbled on some more proof the 2020 could add a TRD exhaust option while browsing the TRD site. Saw that you could select up to MY2021, so I put in 2020 4Runner while messing around, and saw they already show a TRD Exhaust Hardware Kit (PTR03-18131-AA) and Exhaust Hardware Kit (PTR03-89200-AA). The kit doesn't show up up yet for the earlier model years.

EDIT: The former part number appears to be for the FR-S/86, but I can't find anything on the latter. The 86 kit could be shared or could be a mistake.

I doubt there will be a "non blacked out" prototype until they announce the rest of the changes formally. Their focus for NYIAS is the new Highlander, then... that's pretty much it for auto shows until LA again at the end of the year.
I heard/read August 29 SOP for the 2020, so I assume we'll have some production announcements at the beginning of August. Based on that timing, they might just do a production changeover, issue a minor press release and be done with it.
I think Toyota's handling of this reveal has been very strange. They really didn't have to make any mention of the 4Runner changes with the Sequoia TRD Pro announcement in Chicago... they could have just had it as the 4th rig back in all of the promo pics, then announced the 2020 4Runner changes whenever they're ready. Nobody would have thought much of it.
Not showing the new dash nor gauges is odd. With it being a product that's now 10 years old and in a very competitive segment (new Wrangler, new Bronco), it seems to me like holding all of the changes until a holistic press announcement would have helped them garner a little more media attention. But also... maybe they don't want it?
I'm antsy because I'm trying to decide if I want to go ahead and put down a deposit on a 2020, shop for a used GX or save for a used Land Cruiser. I've got a noise in the front driver's side of my 4R that they can't seem to figure out and I'm not trying to keep it out of the warranty period at this point.

I have put my deposit yesterday for 2020 Army Green Pro and signed the papers (subject to price).
No pricing yet but on my bill of sale dealer put existing MSRP in Canadian pesos.
Been told ordering books will be available early June and my truck will be delivered in October/November.
I loved my ‘17 TRD Pro and can’t wait for Army Green with all the goodies.

I am new to the forum from Illinois but have been lurking around for a while. My wife and I test drove some 4Runners this weekend. Our current garage consists of a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha, and a couple of classic cars, so we are used to both body on frame and unibody SUVs for daily use.
We started with some TRD Off Road Premiums with and without KDSS before finishing off with a TRD Pro that was marked up 5K over MSRP. We felt the Off Roads in general rode harder than the TRD Pro but had less body roll with KDSS, which seems to be the consensus.
In the end, we put a deposit down for a 2020 4Runner TRD Pro in Army Green in the same manner as Steel28 above. Dealer owner agreed to MSRP, and we are getting their one 4Runner TRD Pro they are allocated in Army Green for 2020. My mother in law works for Toyota as well, and this is the preferred dealer they use. We could have gotten a TRD Off Road Premium for basically near dealer cost, but no dealing on the TRD Pros, which are typically marked up. In the end, it came down to Army Green. They further stated they don't know yet what pricing will be on 2020 models. We are also looking at an October/November delivery.

I want to love the Army Green but when I see it on the Tacoma it does not resonate with me. Maybe seeing more color on the 4Runner will bring out the tone I was hoping to see with it. Holding judgement until I can see one in the flesh. It's such a desirable SUV.

We can also cancel or change the order if we don’t like the Army Green once images start getting released as the deposit is refundable. If that happens, we’d go with a white one. However, Army Green looks good on the FJs and new Tacoma to us, so I doubt we won’t like it when we finally see it.

I bought my 2019 voodoo blue pro for 48k got $1600 under msrp. There are dealerships that dont charge 5k over or more just got to do some research and might take a little more time to buy or even go out of state.

Maybe not in HS but we used the internet & video games in the 90's. (and Atari in the 80's) The word was technology not computers. I was using the internet for work when 80's kids were what 10 years old? AND we didn't have the ease of Google to find things. It was either Explorer or Netscape. I started in the printing business in 1985 & watched it transition from film/analog to digital by 1995. Always up on technology. Just dont care about it in my car.
