I drove a Gray '20 Pro yesterday new off the deliver truck at dealer. I was not looking to buy it (just curious to actually see the sensor and head unit in person) and only drove it because I was invited to by the sales person who sold me my '18 Pro so she could spend some time and learn the features as it was the first '20 Pro 4runner they received. After seeing it AND now driving it, I think it is WAY over hyped here and for me it affirms everything I've posted earlier in the thread about there being no basis for an owner of a recent year Pro (or even offroad) to ditch their rig in favor of a '20Pro.
Look at my very nice and artistic urban photo posing the MGM pro which looks way cool... but so does my '18 cavblue Pro and I bet your '18 offroad does too. If you're new to buy a 4runner OK maybe, but even then after driving it I'd say find a '19my cheaper or even a used '18. But if you already have one.... the minor changes are not in my opinion worth trading your rig in unless you are so enamored by the very cool looking Green color and have cash to burn which is sort of fickle.
After seeing the sensor in person - I still don't like it. it is not a "freaking' lunchbox" but it is IMHO a silly looking smooth glossy plate that interrupts the visage of the Pro grille and potentially limits the use of front end aftermarket equipment. Furthermore from my testing it's function on the drive... it doesn't seem to work super well in certain conditions which others who have purchased the rig have touched on.... so WHY? and Why no BSM if you're adding frontal safety? And why no indicator mirrors or puddles? The ride a bit more stiff (barely) on the fox setup compared to my '18 which I actually like. The exhaust "Note" if you want to call it that in my opinion is obnoxious and annoyed the shit out of me the whole drive... why have this groan especially when the rig is still gutless when the accelerator is challenged? We are buying a off road crawler here not trying out for the next fast and furious movie. I also don't like the look or idea of the tail pipe bent around the rear passenger mud flap waiting to be snagged on something on the trail.
The sound quality of the JBL audio system is just like I expected... better than the pre-'19 crappy OEM system but no where near as nice as mine after investing in something like OE Audio plus. The form factor of the larger brighter screen did not appeal to me. Even after I changed the theme to a darker shade it was still too much and really offered not much more compared to previous MY other than the smart phone integration which requires your phone be tethered by a cable. Anyone seeking to integrate this to a previous MY would be better served spending that money on aftermarket or upgrading the sound quality like I did. I prefer the large stereo controls and climate knobs on the pre-'20my (i.e. use with glove in the winter) to the smallish buttons around the head unit and dual climate.
The FJ-style roof rack on the '19 and '20 to me is a waste of vertical space. I know it may once again look cool and others may have special configuration use for it but if I tried to put my skybox on that it would be pretty silly.... and finally.... the almighty sunroof. The only reservation I had in buying my '18 CavBlue pro... Yes it is nice to have that bit openness and light from above but the portal is small as compared with ever increasing size of panorama roofs on newer rigs and the head space lost is a real thing. I would have noticed if I hadn't just driven an '18 pro for a year but you do lose space above your head and your rear seat passenger even more so which doesn't matter if they're little kids but to tall adults it might.
Frankly [MENTION=280386]TRDBuckeye[/MENTION] if you are going to fight the good fight to get your wife on board something, I would advise for her benefit that something to be literally getting her on board a cruise ship for a nice vacation with the money you save. Keep your '18 offroad buddy, it will go for a decade to come or more!

Funny you should say that. We are doing an Alaskan cruise next year.
The two things I miss the most from my previous GTI are keyless entry and Android Auto. Cost isnt a huge concern to me but may make more sense to get an ORP where most of that stuff is included too.

These exhaust comments are starting to get me a bit worried. I am looking to buy a 4runner for its reliability and off road capability and any extra noise that comes from the exhaust just comes off as annoying to me. I like the 2020s due to the new tech and love looks of the AG pro but certainly don't want to hear a roar from the exhaust every time I step on the accelerator and I am sure my wife probably won't like that either. Would it be an easy fix to change it back to stock? It's really my only hesitation of going with the pro at this point...
I am not sure if this is just true for the Canadians. Well or at least it may have been. Mine has been at the docks in San Diego since the 4th of September and just finally was updated yesterday to being processed on the 7th of October and delivery of the 18th-23rd. Inventory manager wasn’t sure but said that they were either likely short on parts or it took longer due to the tariffs and customs. Not sure how much truth is to any of that, but, what I was told at least.

I would go that way for sure. For me, keyless entry and push button start = not a selling point. My wife drives a tech loaded Jeep with all of that and I can't tell you how many times I've been confounded by the "Elvis (aka fob) has left the building" message several seconds after she has departed the vehicle when I am driving and dropped her up front before looking for parking. I actually like having the key and don't mind pressing the unlock button from across the lot as I approach after work to be greeted at night by the warm glow of my puddle lamps that I installed courtesy of [MENTION=150567]Old Red[/MENTION]. To each their own but I like the Key.
I also neglected to comment on the up/down buttons they put on the liftgate window. It's cool to have that vs. the need to stick the key in and twist on my '18 Pro but both suck in comparison to my '06 Sport which has the liftgate window up/down on the Fob which is way more useful when approaching holding bags from a store, etc.
Finally I would warn against getting the running boards as pictures in my photo above if you can avoid it which are super flimsy and bend under the weight of my less than dainty 220lbs. The only use these would serve are for kids that need help to step up into the rig (not likely). I would go for solid tube steps if you don't serious offroad which are way more useful for accessing the roof or sliders if you do seriously offroad.

Good thing that guy f'ed up the paint lol.
I saw 1 Army Green TRD Pro parked at the car ship terminal two days ago, could be more Pro's hidden somewhere in the rows of cars. There was also another car ship docked and it looked to be mainly Lexus and Toyota so you can bet a bunch more new 4runner's were unloaded.
Haha it was never on the table as a viable offered option, I just hoped Toyota would surprise us... and then February happened.
But yeah, now they've sent the vehicle to a body shop to get a full exterior polish... goodbye clear coat and UV protection?

Sure one of the firsts would have been nice, but there are many more coming, if you really wanted one.
True... But I figure most people get them paint corrected after they get it because the dealership always messes the paint up? Maybe not as bad as mine was but still?
Apparently there have been a few there since september, at least thats when the first pictures got out from the Vancouver port. Lined up with my original delivery date... now its just a waiting game.

No, people wish it did, that's why they buy the exhaust. (not knocking people that do)
V-6 can do all sorts of things to sound nice, but they never sound like a nice v-8.

Mine is at the dealer as of today. My salesman is off Fridays so getting it first thing in AM. I will post some pictures tomorrow.
