2021 Limited JBL...terrible?

Just picked up a new 4Runner with the JBL system and I can't say I'm impressed. Granted my other truck is a GX with a Marc Levinson for what that's worth.

Anyone else notice that this system sucks, though? It's tinny, and thin, and instruments just sort of die in the background. The system in my 2001 SR5 was infinitely better.

Is it possible to put an aftermarket stereo in this generation with some matched trim (I got a Nightshade)?

The JBL system is a waste of money, find a good car audio shop; For the price you'll pay, the labor and cost of aftermarket is always supreme.

I had that issue with my Tundra Limited. 48k and the Limited didn't even offer a subwoofer; So naturally I carved the trash speakers out and filled it with better speakers and dynamat; Spent a little over cost, about 2k; But I had a system that muffled literally everything in a block radius.
