2021 Limited Keys

Hey all

I just picked up my new 2021 4Runner. Limited.

Are they now just using a generic key? No rear window roll down button. It has wireless entry but the keys seem to be non OEM and maybe replacement.

I haven't seen the new keyfob design. From a quick Google search, is it a black keyfob? With my 2016 Limited, I hold the unlock button and my windows roll down. If yours doesn't do that, you may need Techstream to change the settings.

My 2020 uses the same key fob. It's pretty cheap feeling

That looks exactly like my 2017 keys did but in black instead of silver. No dedicated back window button. Double click and hold on the second click to roll all windows down including sunroof for me

Same as my 2012. Window up/down using unlock button may need to be programmed.

Key fob? I never even see it. It goes in the pocket when I leave and comes out when I get home. No need to touch it. There’s an app too. Welcome to the 21st century.

Up/down is on the hatch.

You can get the dealer to program the vehicle to open all of the windows, except the rear, and the sunroof by holding down the unlock button.

If your vehicle is new the dealer would not provide you with aftermarket fobs as new.

Mine, for my SR5 Premium, are just like the ones in the picture above.

I have had my 2021 TRD Pro for a few weeks now. Holding down unlock on the fob will open the windows and moonroof. Hitting the lock button 3 times (holding on the 3rd) remotely starts the vehicle. I believe the Limited is the same.

Cheap cheap plastic, cheap cheap to repair.
