20's-22's Rim width/Tire selection question?

I'm going to purchase either 20's or 22's and I have a few simple questions I was hoping to have answered. I understand the usual setup I see here is a 20inch wheel with a 265/50/20 tire.

1. Can you run a wider tire on the 20's and if so what is the rim width and overall tire size that's reccomended?

2. Is a 20x8.5 wheel combined with a 265/50/20 a good setup?

3. I'm lost with 22's! What width rim and what size tire is reccomended for the best fit.

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm planning to pick my truck up next weekend and want to purchase wheels ASAP!!

When I was looking at 20's, I was going to get 20x9 rims with 275 50 or 55 series tires. That would be no problem, as long as the offset is reasonable.

You brought up another good question. What offset should we be using for the best fit/look ?

I'm running 22"X9.5" with 285/35/22's, not sure about backspacing, but no rubbing as of yet.
