22re starting/running problem PLEASE HELP

AFM tested fine. Re routed some vacuum cables according to the under-hood diagram. Me and [MENTION=92884]snivilous[/MENTION] checked the spark plugs and they were a little wet. We are thinking there maybe be moister in my gas or something that is effecting the firing of the cylinders. We are going to put some new gas and fuel injector cleaner in the tank to see if there is a difference.

I was going to suggest the AFM too. Did you have to unplug the TPS and not plug it back in? Is it throwing a check engine light?

Thanks for the input but no I doesn't have check engine or any lights in. Put in different gas. No change yet

Seems odd. It sounds almost like it's flooded, why else would the plugs be wet? I'm not sure if this will work with the injection setup, but with a carb'd engine you hold the throttle open until it starts and clears out. Spark, air, and fuel, keep digging.

I feel like your AFM is fine - the test port fourwd1 had you jump bypasses the AFM signal to the circuit open relay, so I think if the AFM was causing your trouble then jumping that port would have fixed it?

if your engine is flooding, putting the accelerator to the floor doesn't help in the fuel injected t4r, as far as starting.

one thing to check - in your post #13, top photo, pull the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator in the upper left of the picture. there should be absolutely no fuel in this line. if there is, your fuel pressure regulator diaphragm is faulty, and you need to replace the regulator. fuel in this line will make it very hard to start if the engine has been sitting for about 5 minutes up to about 2 days. after 2 days, the fuel will have dissipated, and it will start right up.

I also think it's getting flooded. You can smell it in the exhaust for the short amount of time it will run. It's definitely running rich. I will check the line from the fuel pressure regulater. Now.. research about why an engine would be flooding.

i have no idea whether your engine is flooding or not; if it is, a failed pressure regulator diaphragm is one possible cause. it's easy enough to check and confirm or rule out.

I can taste gas in the line from regulator but none actually came out. I unplugged the TPS and tried to start it. No change. I tried to test the resistance of the TPS, but I don't know if the multimeter is a POS or if the TPS is bad.

GOT IT.

Wire got shorted that goes over the valve cover to under the intake. Crimped them and it's running again Lots of time and frustration just for that... Oh well. Glad it's fixed. Thank you everyone for all your input.
