To replace the 3.0 with the newer 3.4 5ve-fe is a relatively easy swap with 40 more horsepower and newer motor

Yea the more and more I dig I keep seeing 22re as the better options. But there are a few cultists that love the 3.0. I don’t mind mine but I’d rather have the 4 cylinder.

I think the moral of the story is if you have the 22re, keep the 22re, if you have the 3vze, either keep and restore it or replace with the 3.4L or better rather than the 22re.
