Hi I am a new-B to the 4 runner scene so please don't get to mad if this is something every Toyota guy should know.
I just purchased a 1987 sr5 with a 22rec that runs great but definitely lacks in the power department, I was thinking about building a 22r-te on the side nothing to crazy but definitely some work into it. A 20r head with a little machine work, intake, exhaust, pulleys, blah blah blah.
My 2 big questions are 1. what are the major differences between the two bottom ends. and 2 is it even worth the time and effort, or is there maybe some other build that would make more sense? I do plan on some light wheeling but nothing to intense, and I will end up taking it to work every once and a while so it doesn't have to be a torque monster.
