265/70/17 w/o a lift?

Quick question, I have to get new tires on the runner soon and was thinking about sizing up from the 265/65/17 stock tires. I do not yet have a lift (eventually will happen, but will need the tires first because I'm almost riding on baldys). I was wondering if anyone has done the same thing or if there would be any rubbing issues with a larger tire and no lift to the truck.

Yes they will fit. I wouldn't get the bfg's, not sure on the geolander. I just got the hankook atm and love them. I haven't went off road yet but im sure they will do fine. There is a link in ny sig to a post with pics, click where it lists the tires.

265/70/17 will fit fine with no lift & not rub or need trimming as long as they're on the stock wheels with no wheel spacers. with aftermarket rims or wheel spacers you will most likely need to move the inner fender forward &/or trim the bumper. heres mine with a 2 in. front lift, & 265/70s after moving & trimming, see how close it still is?

I have that size with Yokohama Geolander A/T-S (E rating with I was told 10 ply) on stock wheels, stock suspension (no-lift).

No issues yet. Went off-roading once in Death Valley. Peformed pretty well. The only minor rubbing I see is with lock-to-lock turning however that also seems to be very intermittent. Sometimes it rubs and other times it does not.

JAC,they fit on stock 4r wheels, i think the backspacing on the FJ wheels u got is different, if they move the tires farther out, similar to having spacers on stock 4r rims, thats when trimming comes into play.

I recently bought a 4th gen 4runner and it came with new 265-70-17 BF rugged trail tires. I have done some light offroading and have flexed the suspension and no rubbing issues what so ever. I spent time trying to get them to rub and couldn't do it. My truck is stock with no lift. So I know that the BF rugged trails fit fine.........althought I would not suggest getting the rugged trails if you want to do any off roading.

If you want to go with the 265-70-17 go for it. They will be fine. Just make sure the tire you choose is size accurately and not larger than they are rated. All tire vary in size.
