275/70/17 Picture request!

thanks!!!! those are some slick pictures.

my friend was talking me into buying some aftermarket 17x8.5's rather than powdercoating my wheels...but it looks like the factory wheels and those tires tuck nicely into the rear fender if need be. I am not confident the aftermarket wheels will do the same.

Lord Lost, how is the ride quality with the Coopers? Did you notice any big difference in ride quality or noise? Nice looking truck!

Thanks to all those who posted pics and experiences in this thread!

Still love the 4Runner, but am starting to notice the nosedive more and more. Not quite as bad as our older GX, but would like to remedy it in the future. Have had great experiences with 5100's on previous vehicles and the adjustability on these have sold me. 285's and a lift will hopefully happen down the line, but for now the 275's combined with the Bilstein's will be perfect with having to park in a garage and not upsetting the wife too much.

Thanks letzrace, so far these tires are excellent way better traction than my bfg ko's much smoother ride quality especially over large impacts, difficult to say if they are quieter than the bfg's because they are still so new. I only wish the shoulder blocks would look more aggressive, hope that helps.

so i am settled on 275's...i am now researching BFG TA KO's vs Cooper discoverer AT3's. i like the looks of the TA KO's but the AT3's are a bit less expensive!

Did the Bilstein's cure the nose dive? I can not stand how bad my 2014 dives when braking. Looks good.

Why 45psi? The sticker on the door says 32psi (i have stock 265/70/17)

The BFG's are E rated and require higher pressure than the stock P rated tires. See the thread below for a good explanation.

Ok, that does it. Because of this thread I have now ordered my LT275/70r17 Cooper AT3 tires! I get them next week. I'll post some pics once I get them installed. I hope they will do well in the snow during my trips to Lake Tahoe next winter (assuming we get snow)

Since there's not to many threads with folks going for 275's I was hoping to squeeze in a quick question.

The forums VERY useful tire figment guide notes these fit on the stock suspension.

While adding the new wheels I'd like to install the Bilstein 5100's as well. Should the front shocks be moved up a notch? I'm not particularly looking to level. Like it just the way it is, and I know 275's are just maybe an inch taller, so would setting them at the (I believe .85) setting be best? I do plan to add a winch as soon as a hidden mount is released.

No particular desire to add spacers to the rear at that time unless they're needed. Rather save up for the day I get a full blown lift.

I'm pretty set on the BFG AT's in 275. I know they're E rated but that's nothing new to me and actually prefer them.

Apologies for high jacking the thread, just haven't seen many folks with 275's and a winch on a relatively stock truck.

My car is still in the shop due to a minor fender bender, so i have not ordered tires just yet.

Looked at the Cooper ST Maxxs? A little less pricey then the TA KOs, and they have gotten very good ratings. Definatly more aggressive than the AT3s, but still ride well from what I have heard. They come in the offsize 275/70 as well.

Third post on page 1, he has the .85" setup and looks perfect to me, I used the mid setting when doing my Tundra as well and it was just enough.

:embarassed: A bit embarrassed I missed that. Thanks for pointing out his settings.

A bit premature here but anyone run the 5100's, 275's, with a winch? No bumper, just the hidden mount. Since the mount exists only on Budbuilts and perhaps a few other companies drawing boards, I'm sure I'll end up raising the shocks to compensate.

Curious all the same though.
