I did a trial fitting with 285.70.17s yesterday using some Wrangler ATR they had. I'm actually buying Hankook Dynapro M/Ts but they didn't have those around for the test fit. The 285 does rub the UCA at full lock. I already have 1.5" spacers on order and it looks like that will take care of that rub. I already took care of the liner on that side for the test and everything is a go. I also have a 2.5/1.5 Daystar lift so that does help.
Will post pictures when everything is installed.
BTW, I couldn't get the tire dealer to install the tires. They said that insurance regulations would not allow them to install tires more than 2 sizes over stock. So today I get to ferry all my tires back and forth so they can mount them on the rim so I can install them on the truck.

The tires are on and I love them. Don't have the spacers yet but no rubbing right now as long as I don't turn the wheel to the lock.

Lift spacers do not help the uca rub problem. Take a closer look!!!

When I said "1.5" spacers" I meant to say wheel spacers. I already have lift spacers installed. The wheel spacers will arrive on Monday I hope.

What made you choose that brand of tire? That specific model? Did you see it in action or heard about them through the grapevine?
So you have a 2.5/1.5 lift plus 1.5 wheel spacers on all four tires? What is the advantage of wheel spacers? Does it push the whole rim/tire outwards, therefore moving it away from the chassis? I dont know about those.
What made you choose the 2.5/1.5 versus the 2/3 cornfed?
I know I have plenty questions, but that is what a forum is about.

It was a combination of those. I wanted an MT. These had a pretty aggressive look to them without being over the top. But they look like they'll do what I want them to do. This is my daily driver also so they have to be pretty decent on the expressway. I have yet to test them offroad but onroad they behave pretty good. Better than I thought they would actually. They also are priced very well. These were ~$190 per tire as opposed to most other MTs which can hit the $250 per tire mark easily.
Yes, I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5. I do not have the wheel spacers yet but they should arrive Monday. They simply act as a spacer between the rim and the wheel. These large tires rub on the upper control arm when I turn the wheel to either lock. Even with the wheel straight I can't fit a finger between the uca and the tire right now. Once the spacers are installed on all wheels, I should have no major rubbing problems. But just in case I've got an angle grinder ready and waiting to shave a little off the front bumper or anywhere else if needed. Do a search for Spidertrax on here or Google and you see them in action. The ones I ordered aren't Spidertrax but they are pretty much the same.
