I can get a nice loaded 2gen 3.0l 4x4 for 450 dollars. It has a big issue tho. It has no oilpressure and it has a massive engine knock to it. It sounds like that it comes from the right upper corner of the engine. With this beeing my first 4runner im a little scared that it is gonna be a major fix. Has anyone an idea what could possible be wrong with it?

RUN!.. don't walk... RUN!
Seriously though... if you are not very mechanically inclined then a 2nd gen is probably not the vehicle for you. On the other had... if you enjoy a good project and have the funds to support it... go for it.
Either way... IT WILL NOT BE CHEAP. Sounds like it needs a new engine.

Assume you need a new engine period.

1. Find out how much a replacement engine goes for in your area.
2. Determine if you are capable of doing an engine swap on your own.
3. If not find out how much to install the engine will cost
4. Figure out if it's worth it.
