I was just wondering if there is anybody out there besides myself that owns a 2nd gen 2wd T4R and has actually done anything to it? I know it's pretty much pointless because it's not 4wd but you never know whats out there. Just wanting to see some 2wd Runners!

Wow I didn't even know that toyota made 2wd 2nd gens. You could put a lift and tires and a spartan locker. But what are your plans? Like off road or street only?

I would make it 4wd... Find some one doing a SAS and buy all the front end parts, then get a 4wd tranny and transfer and put it together.

What do you get for MPG in a 2wd runner?

I get about 220 miles out of a 13 gallon tank. Not bad. I'm missing a bunch of emission stuff under the hood and my VCG are leaking. I'm working on getting those emission parts though. Yeah I wish it was 4wd. I don't know what my plans are honestly. I would like to have a rear locker. I'm getting tires soon and I'm gonna plasti dip some stuff too.

Lift, tires, and a locker for sure. If it were me, I would go long travel and do a pre-runner type setup!

This kind of a set-up on a 2nd gen 4runner would be AWESOME...

Yeah it would. But my budget is kind of limited, with paying for school and all. But yeah that would def be kick ass.

LOL I get 220 out of my 17gal.

I had a Jeep Grand 2wd, lifted 4 inches, locked it, and so on, it would go trail riding with most 4wd. Granted if we stayed on rocks and not in the mud

How does that work? I know with 2wd XJ's and MJ's they used the hilarious tube axles. What generation grand Cherokee? Do you have ifs or did the tube axle get more use? I've never seen a 2wd pre-WK grand Cherokee.

Fantastically off topic I know

Hi so I actually have the same 4runner. 2wd and automatic, I have a 3" Old man emu lift on it and 32" BFG K02s on it, no locked or anything in the rear and I have never gotten stuck, I've actually pulled some 4wd people out hahaha. Tires make a huge difference and a little bit of clearance.
