2nd Gen AFM Mod

So I've seen some other threads cover this, but I'm still uncertain what replacement will work. I've seen an AFM from a '90 Camry V6 will be compatible with a '94 SR5 (in my case), but are there other years/engines of Camry that an AFM will work from, or does it neeeed to be a '90 V6. Also, what about an avalon, if those were even around then?

Well, I picked up the AFM from a 92 camry v6. I've removed the stock AFM. Just like the other threads say, this camry AFM will fit 2/3 places fine. It connects to the intake tube fine, although a larger tube would be more appropriate. It connects to the wire fine as well. It does not line up perfectly to the 4 screws connecting the air filter box. This has been noted in other threads as well. I understand you can just get a cone filter and remove the OEM one, so that's no big deal.

The one thing I'm wondering is has anyone tried this? I've read all the other threads already, so directing me to those won't help. The other threads are outdated and inconclusive. Any help is appreciated.
