2nd Gen as a "cheap" daily?

Not knowing your budget, I can tell you that 2nd gens are a dime a dozen up here in Colorado. It might be worth finding one up here and then driving it back down. Myself or someone else in the area would more than likely go look at one for you.

I just worry about rust.

I don't mind paying a bit more for a salt free Texas truck.

Rust is not a big issue up here, they don't salt the roads here in the Springs either.

I thought I would give a little update.

I had decided a 3rd gen may be my best bet (and easier to find).

I made a trip to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and spent about 1.5 days looking around.

I missed great deal on an '01 by a few minutes. Truck was immaculate.

The one that was really disappointing was this;

Someone had already put a deposit on it.

It looked almost showroom new (I had to look hard to find a couple of door dings). The interior was truly amazing. It was truly the one owner gem of legends........

The terrible kicker; the new owners plans for it (a district attorney)? Keep it at his deer lease.........


Now I wait.
