so i measured everything out today for me to build new front and rear bumpers, rocker guards, and a partial exo cage, and a roof rack. Priced it all out and will be $160 in steel, plus odds and ends in material. These are my initial "blueprints" so to speak. any insight would be appreciated

At that price I would be willing to bet it's HREW. You cannot find 140 ft of DOM for $160. Heck, even for hot rolled that is cheap!

X2 on knowing what tube size you're using.

yea i called the local steel shop at its 2" steel with a wall diameter of .120 its mild rolled steel price per foot is cheap enough

Wow! Good price, but just curious...why so big? 2 inch is huge for stuff like roof racks...harder to bend tight radius corners...just a pain to work with.
Suggestion...drop to 1-1/2 or 1-5/8 and have same strength if triangulated (gusseted) right. Just curious...don't throw too big of rocks at me. Cool designs by the way

i went with 2 inch cause i think it would give a better look for the bumpers, i have a friend who build a bumper out of 1 1/2 and it just looks like if you drive to fast down the highway it may just melt over the front of his truck haha. As far as the roof rack i may go down to a smaller size, i just kinda rough ball priced it out as the same steel to give myself an idea of how much it will all cost.
