2nd Gen front bumper on 1st Gen???

Ive seen this done on a truck in a pic somewhere but I think Im about to do it to mine. I want an ARB (of course) but I can afford the $50 for the 2nd gen bumper at the junkyard. I have yet to see a decent used 1st gen bumper for sale and a new setup would run $150-$200. Any advice or ideas would be great.

I know it's been done, but mostly with aftermarket bumpers I think. Your best bet is going to be to take measurements of your stock mounting locations (or make a cardboard template) and compare that to the 2nd gen bumper.

Well the answer to any question, is yes it CAN fit, but not without our a bit of work, and you still end up with a weak stock bumper..

The 2nd gens mount to the side of the front bodymounts while the 1st gens mount to the front cross member.

You would have to make new mounts to get it to work.
