2nd Gen Rims fit on a 3rd gen?

I looking for a winter set of rims cause i just got a new set of rims that i dont want to ruin. (im not asking for a set, just if they fit)

I cant keep the set i had on before.

If your 4Runner came with 16" rims, then no. IIRC, all 2nd gens were 15".

it did come with 16", then how do people put 15'' on when put 35" on there truck.

If you put 15" rims on a truck that came with factory 16" wheels, they just won't fit. The brakes on 16" equipped models are larger than the brakes on 15" models:naughty:

Most likely they have the smaller brakes that clear 15" rims. You just physically cannot put 15" rims on. You can swap your brakes for smaller ones, if you wish.

Cannot fit FACTORY 15" there are a few aftermarket ones that will clear the 16" brake equiped 3rd Gens. Do not ask me which brand or models but it is possible. Best bet find someone that has a cheap set of 16's on CL or get some black 16" steelies for cheap.

Are you sure about this? I have never seen any 15" clearing the bigger brakes. Even Wheelers 15" wheeled with the lower offset states it cannot clear those brakes.

I am 98% on this, like I said it was only a few. However the people I have met that did this might have had Dealer Option 16" factory. Meaning from Japan came with 15" and dealer put on the 16" as an option.
I didnt personally measure or verify brake size, just know of a friend that removed 16" factory to put on 15" aftermarket and said he had a very hard time finding ones that fit.

You MUST make sure the caliper says S13wm or S12we. S13 = bigger. Look at the clearance on yours, if it's the bigger brakes. Imagine closing that gap by 1/2". Just no enough clearance to run 15's. But I could be wrong, too.
