2nd generation (1990-95) 4-Runner now sold new in China

Chinese auto manufacturer "Great Wall Motor Company" has a new SUV called the "Safe" which is almost identical to the 2nd generation (1990-95) Toyota 4-Runner (Hilux Surf):

Crazy.
we bought a little dirtbike for my younger brother from china and it the frame and plastic was identical to a yamaha pw and the engine was identical to a Honda CR 50f.
those Chinese like to copy the Japanese for sure.

he front end on that "SAFE" looks like a newer ford f-150 or exploder (explorer).

i was navigating their site and all their vehicle are based of another. Mainly Toyota and Ford.

thats funny. maybe they will have some parts that will swap right over. wouldn't that be nice! in the picture of the cargo are it looks exactly the same. maybe i will look into getting a brand new tailgate! i looked up the company on wikipedia and they are already being sued by Fiat for copying one of their cars.

wow. i did not think the world could swoop that low. something like that is quite archaic. something along the lines of forgery? many cars have had designs shared, such as the pord probe series is DIRECTLY based off the mazda mx6, but i dont thinl yota busted out the blueprints for "the wall" or whatever it was

the thing is, the 'great wall motor company' is not affiliated with any other company, so any design similarities with other companies would have to have been stolen or a "coincidence" (i think not). in the case of a ford car looking like a mazda, that is because ford owns 33% of mazda, just like toyota owns lexus, so there are alot of shared design cues between brands. but i guess cheap knock-offs are what china does best.

almost identical is far fetched in my opinion... although from the rear angle there are definite similarities!!

"Great Wall Motor pays much attention to environment protection. It follows national emission standard strictly, adopting lead-free gasoline and set upping three unique catalytic converter to convert hazardous substance into innocuous substance."

I love the way it is written. "Great Wall pays much attention to environment protection." Just not the way we would word it. Plus, I think most of us would not think the fumes coming out of our catalytic converter tail pipe would be "innocuous". Someone in China may start their car in a inclosed area and breath in all those "innocuous" fumes.
