2uz-fe engine cover

Has anyone ever thought of installing an engine cover from the Landcruiser? I know it doesnt really have a purpose besides looks but I always thought that engine covers kinda clean up the engine bay and give a more modern look.

I've thought about it, My stepdad has a Lexus Landcr... I mean LX470. Its a nice cover, but I am happy with the throttle body cover that comes with it stock.

I think that cover looks pretty cool, I have a small one on my 4R for the V8 and it has the VVTi on it. It's not as big as the landcruiser one and it's silver.....you may know what I'm referring to.
I've always wanted to do something under the hood to "clean it up" (I already wipe it down weekly, so not literally clean) and maybe do a little red paint on the airbox like the TRD has. Just a thought.

I don't think its a direct bolt on as our V8 sit now, but I have a feeling that the brackets it requires would be able to be installed on our engine without mod. If you were to buy the cover new then you might have to fab up brackets but if you found one at a wreckers, then you could just take the brackets of the donor engine. Problem with that is that the wreckers would probably want to sell you the whole engine rather that part it out. I dont know but I think im gonna investigate.

@snowbrdr: I like that idea of painting the airbox...I think i'm gonna buy a Volant CAI and paint it to look like the TRD one hehehe

hahahahahah, that cracked me up. I absolutely approve of that idea!!! I actually inquired about the TRD intake at the stealership last week and the lady informed me that they were discontinued through 'Yota. Not sure if this is accurate or not, but wanted to share. I probably wouldn't get it anyway, but even if you painted the stock airbox, it'd make the engine bay look a little cooler.
