2UZ-FE Sparkplugs

Hi everyone,

Which spark plugs do you guys use for 2UZ-FE V8 engine? I know it calls for Iridium spark plugs. I was going to with this

or oem from totoya when i go pick up some power steering fluid this weekend

What is everyone take on using antisieze on spark plugs here? its really seems like its the type of spark plug that will indicate if its needed or not. it seems that this one doesn't need it, thus no need to risk over torquing.

I used Denso plugs in mine.

I did not use antisieze.

If I remember right I'm running the Laser NGKs right now in my 4Runner's 2UZ-FE (or whatever their top ones are...)

Don't use anti-seize, NGK specifically has a TSB regarding it.

Okay no anti-seize got it!

Are these spark plugs better than the ones that came from the factory? Are you using the laser NGK's that are in my OP's by any chance?

I used basic NGK v-powers and I DID use anti-seize.

Do I need to pull 'em and swap?

No, but you probably over-torqued unwittingly when you installed them.

Ahhh, I torqued by feel anyways so...

I'm not a good Toyota owner when it comes to torquing everything to spec.

This thread has the appropriate title so figured I'd ask my question here vs starting yet another thread on the same topic.

When I checked my spark plugs condition a while back, I noticed that both sides have different plugs. So, this leads me to ask, why is this so and do people follow this normally?

I think people run different plugs on each side as a way of balancing out the engine since there are 4 plugs on each side. I've never understood why some have done that. I've always kept the same plugs on each side.

It was that way from the factory, now you know they are factory plugs. Here is some more info:

6 cyl were split from the factory left and right side. I thought V8 were all the same?
