Hello all, new to the site, just bought a 92 4r that needed head gaskets, I replaced the gaskets, marked all hoses and plugs for reassembly, all went together well, but on start up engine wont idle, runs good at 1500 rpm on up but burbles like a stock car or dies on idle, ran fine before head gaskets done but smoked (of course), I have checked and rechecked the timing about ten times, all fine, restabbed distributor, all fine, checked and rechecked vacuum lines and plugs, all good. So majorly stumped at this point, Im not getting any engine lights, engine revs good, no smoke. I have replaced the cap and rotor and plugs, no difference, cleaned throttle body, still same issue. The only thing I can think of was on disassembly I broke a sensor located in the water bypass unit at back of manifold. The sensor is located next to the temp switch, took it to autozone along with pic in manual, guy there had no idea what it was but pulled up a temp switch that looked the same, so I bought it for $14 and went on my merry way, upon inspection of everything now, I find out that switch was the cold start injector switch, not a temp sensor like I was sold. Any idea if this could be my problem? any ideas please let me know, thanks!
