I bought a wrecked in the rear 95 3.0 v6 from a salvage yard . Had the collision damage repaired , then drove it about 500 miles before the head gasket failed . Had the head gasket replaced .. I've driven it a couple hundred miles since .. now I'm having trouble with it starting . It doesn't do it all the time ... seems to do it after it's been sitting a while , but when you turn the key the engine will turn over a couple times and then just stop .. You have to turn the key back to the off position then try again . Sometimes it will do that same thing another time or two , other times it starts up . Does this sound like a starter problem or something else ? I've had nothing but trouble since buying this car .. any help would be much appreciated !

Manual or automatic?
For manual, check the switch on the clutch, or use the "clutch start" button if you have one.
For automatic, check the sensor that sees that you are in park.
The starter failing is common (well, as common as many vehicles needing it fixed once in the first 150k can be) in the 2nd gens, at least on the 3.0. But when that happened for me, the starter wasn't turning anything over, just as if the battery was shot. Infact, replacing the battery fixed it for a while.
But really, all 3 of these sound a little different than what you have. Download a copy of the factory service manual, and look at the trouble shooting area about "does not start". The nice thing there is that it narrows it down, plus it also prioritizes it so that you look at the most likely things first.
The FSM can be found on the permalink at the top of the classics section.
