3/2 lift and 285/60/18 tires on 06 sport

Hey guys, I've been looking for a picture or some reassurance that 285/60/18's will fit with a 3/2 leveling kit. Before I decided to do this I found a pic of someone with this combo and it looks sick, well I ordered rims, and the tires are at the dealership waiting, I just wanted to know if I'm going to run into problems, or if I need to do any prep work before installing. I already have spidertrax 1.25 spacers.
Thanks for any information anyone has. The tires are terra grapplers on OEM toyotas.

Well, first off. I hope you upgraded to the Limited 18" wheels, not the standard SE 17 inchers....

EDIT: I need to read closer.....rims ordered.

Anywho. I would wait to see if you have any rubbing, and trim as necessary. Most common trim is the fender liners and removal of the mud flaps.

How far up the liner would you recommend I cut. Can i drive it home without ruining anything? or should I Chop it out before hand. They're going to mount balance and align when I get this done, I didn't want to be int he position of sitting at the dealership asking them to put my old tires back on the truck and hauling the new ones home.

its gonna rub like a MF on the fender liner. move it forward, drill some holes in it and zip tie it in place.

I'll start tomorrow and see what I come up with, do you know of any reference, a pic maybe to use as a guide,(where to attach zipties to the truck) regardless thanks for the info. at least I can prepare a little.
Is there any downside to cutting out the plastic?

eh, easier to get mud and water is your engine bay near electrical stuff and on the pass side near intake

check out JA's site on his spider trax section. I can take pics tomorrow if you need

This is not a real common size, it's an inch smaller than the common 285/65/18 (285/70/17). It may take some trimming but probably nothing major. As mentioned, do the modification described at the bottom of this page and you should be fine. It may take a little more, but this will be close enough you can drive home without a problem.

zak, i dont know if it will rub like a mofo, i dont know if it will rub at all with the tire he is choosing

i am running 275/70/18 thats a 33.2" tire OP is running 285/60/18 thats a 31.5" tire stock tire size 265/70/16 is 30.5" so he is only going up 1" in tire size. then going up 3" in lift. i dont think there will be much of a issue. personally i would have went 285/65/18 at minumum or 275/70/18

i did FJ coils and daystar 2.5/1.5 lift and i had to trim it a little. link to my post

yeah perhaps that was a little aggressive lol. I just had much worse rubbing than I expected with 265/75/16's (also one inch up from stock - 31.7). and having never heard rubbing before when we pulled it out of the shop it sounded horrible. I still rub on the mud flaps, even after trimming them, but the way i did it they just get pushed back.

it's more the spider trax, if i didn't have the spacers, wouldnt rub at all, i believe.

Let me chime in and motivate you LoL

stock tired old suspension with 169k swapped out for the following:

With daystar 2.5/1.5 level lift, FJ Coils, Bilsteins and 33" tires BFG rugged trail TA 275/70/18 (craigslist find $100 for all 4), 18x9" American Racing 901 wheels with a 00mm offset. rides great, no more boucy bounce. no more killer rake from the worn springs. netted about 4.5"!!

Looks good, I always like the limited 18" wheels. I would've went a shade darker in color, either way it looks good.
