Can anyone here say they lost or broke their SC belt and kept on driving for awhile w/o it? I know the battery will no longer charge, but how did the engine run w/o the SC belt? Was it comparable to a stock engine w/o a SC'r?
I'm taking a long drive down the Baja this winter and mechanics shops are far and few. The belt can be changed at road side, but it's not an easy job and sometimes you have to drive a long ways to find a suitable flat and shady spot.
I'm putting on a new belt before I leave, but anything can happen.
Just wondering if anyone has had the experience of driving their SC'd rigs w/o the SC belt on it? Thanks.
