I bought a 3.4 off of a guy from YotaTech, it came out of a 97 auto 4Runner. It came with headers, rebuilt ported and polished heads, oversized injectors, a walboro fuel pump, and of course the supercharger (it has URD's smaller pulley that gets it to 9 pounds of boost).
The truck all of this is going into is a 88 SR5 with a 5 speed and a 3.0. I love this truck and told myself I wasn't going to build it on a budget, that I was going to build it once and build it right. That being said I switched out a lot of stuff and added a lot along the way.
-Trail Gear bomb proof motor mounts
-Competition Clutch stage 4 racing clutch
-3 row heavy duty all brass radiator
-14" Derale electric fan
-K&N intake (not actually the best for performance but I need a california legal intake)
-Custom 2.25" crossover and full exhaust with a highflow cat and magnaflow muffler
-Autometer Elite Series air to fuel ratio gauge
-Autometer Elite Series exhaust gas temperature gauge
-Autometer Elite Series vacuume/boost gauge
I also replaced all fluids and filters in the process. I had to put a 2 inch body lift on the truck to clear some things but I'm looking into taking it off now and going the hood scoop route to clear the supercharger. The only part of the swap that is remotely hard is going through all the wiring diagrams, but even still its not that bad, like I said before 19 wires all in all. If you do go the performance route you are going to have to pay a shop or learn how to tune the URD computer at some point. Its a little nerve wracking at first but its actually fairly simple.
