3 gen Drive shaft, 2wd

I was received told my drive shaft would need to be replaced due to it having dry rotted rubber inside of the shaft. The new quote was around $500 and to replaced the yoks to a more common size. Any truth to this?

Also, would a tacoma drive shaft fit?

Ask the seller to measure from the center of one ujoint cap to the center of the cap at the other end. Do the same with yours and compare the two.

You'll want a compressed length and an extended length.

Is this 2000 also 2WD?

Yes it is a 2WD.

All 2WD's from 96 to 02 should be the same length etc., The only difference is 4wd with multimode transfer case having a short drive shaft compared to J-shifter

Found a used drive shaft and installed in. Fixed the problem, the drive is so smooth now at 65 mph and above. Thanks guys!
