3 inch lift with 265/75/16

Need new tires and not going to lift mine...2011 Sport 4wd.



Has 265-70-16's on it now. Would 265-75-16's fit on the stock height car? I know speedo will be off 1mph, roughly, but any rubbing issues? Like the idea of just a tad more sidewall and bulk.

That essentially the same size tire...

They may rub fully flexed offroad. But most people fit them with no issues.

It shouldn't rub any more than stock (which shouldn't rub either) because it's .04 inches different. You won't even notice 4/100s of an inch

sometimes i wish i had gone with 265/75/16s instead of 285s....then i look at the 4runners on 35s thread and i wish i had gone with 35s lol :roll:

I completely misread and thought he was talking 285's.

To OP yeah they wont rub at all, thats pretty much a stock tire. MY BAD!! LOL.

That's comparing a 16" wheel and a 17" wheel.

A 265/75-16 vs a 265/70-16 will be about an inch different in height.

Edit: when I first read it I could have sworn it was a 17" and he's going down to 16"... idk any 5th gen that came with 16" anyway but not sure what I think I saw. I would have put money on him going from 17 to 16... odd.

3" seems like a little much for 31s but some of these rigs can pull it off

Front setup: toytec/eibach 620 springs, bilstein 5100 tundra strutss, toytec 1" diff drop
Rear setup: toytec 3" lift springs (not superflex), Bilstein 5100 24-249966 shocks, going to install extended brakeline soon so I can take it on trails.
Tires: cooper discoverer at3
Definitely going to upgrade to 285's once I get the chance but 265's definitely don't look bad, plus better gas milage.

Summary:

For those of you looking for a short easy answer for if 265/75/16's look good with an around 3" lift, I think I have come to a conclusion...

Sonoran Steel 1.2 3" lift kit with 265/75's - Does not look good.

OME coils w/ or w/o new shocks with 265/75 - Looks good.

Anything more than a 3" suspension lift with 265's = No go! :gun5:



Remember this is all my opinion and you do whatever looks good to YOU! You are the one driving it after all... I just thought it would give my .02$ on how 32's look with a lift.

I think it depends. Looks are too subjective. For instance, some who lift their trucks are very concerned with it being level. Others want a more raked look. And it can be argued that the raked stance offers the real world benefit of not having a reverse stance when loaded.

I had a hybrid SS lift with coilovers up front combined with 265/75/16s. I would probably have been just as happy, and it might have worked fine, been cheaper, and easier for my needs to just have left it at that. LOL.

But I am not one to leave well enough alone.
