3 inch ToyTec Bilstein lift kit ?

I am thinking about getting this lift kit, 3" lift ToyTec/Bilstein kit for 96-02 4Runner for my 2001 4runner. If you have this kit, how do you like it? Would you buy it again or go with another lift? How is the ride of the kit? Also, how does the 4runner sit, front to back, with how the kits ships? Did you have to adjust the front up or the back up to make it sit perfect? I do about 95% of my driving on the pavement to and from car dealerships. I do want a kit that rides really good. I plan on running 285/75/16 tires as well. Also, please post pics if you have this kit installed on your 4runner. Thanks, J

I've actually decided on getting this kit, however money may be an issue for me, so I've decided to wait until I need new shocks anyways. Try searching for this in the search bar and I'm sure you'll find reviews/pics and more!

I just got this kit and I love it. I am also running LT285/75/16 Duratracs. I'll include a picture below. It rides like a truck—added rigidity means you'll feel a little bit more of the bumps but it is by no means annoying—I love it personally and was expecting this. It's up high—I'm 6'1" and have to get up on my toes to get in.

3" was the most I wanted to go, because I wanted to still maintain the spirit of the original look, and I think the 3" kit works to that end. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. One thing though is that when I'm cutting the wheel and going over serious bumps, there is a tiny bit of rub. But it has to be a pretty steep/large bump or curb, etc. Also ... you'll need a Hi-Lift. Your stock jack won't work no mo...

I just spent the past 8 hours installing this lift. The truck sits perfectly level right now. I'm hoping it stays that way but we'll see. I haven't even driven it yet. I just pulled it out of the garage and was on the way to take a shower. lol Then off for a test drive. I'll post up some pick later this week and give my driving feedback after I get it aligned. The actual install was actually pretty painless except for the rear upper shock bolts. I ended up just sawzalling the shock out instead of messing with it. And with that I'm off to the shower. Know where did I put my gojo?

Family member has this lift, he really likes it and it sits pretty level. I have the toytec ultimate lift on mine, and i think mine rides a little bit better. IMO that lift your looking at is too stiff for me. I only say this because of how mine feels. If I didn't have the two to compare, I wouldn't care too much for the stiffness. You definitely feel the bumps more. I almost thought my setup was too soft, but after riding in my family members vehicle, I like the ultimate better. For the price, you can't beat it though.

Oh and yes, it gives you a full 3 inches. Both CV boots ripped after installing, which is pretty common for lift kits.

Side question; anyone put it on a 2WD yet? I noticed the note on ToyTec specifically saying don't put this lift on a 2WD 4cyl.. but what about us 2WD 6's? :yo: Is 3" lift overkill for a 2WD rig? :shrug:

I too was going to pull the trigger on this but am a little concerned about an overly stiff ride. Mine will be a DD with 33".

We have this kit on our runner with a 1.5" BL and 285/75/16 and with that much lift you might as well install an adjustable UCA.
