3" Lift Kit, Best bang for my buck

Yeah you can take it to a shop to get it installed but unless you're half witted please don't. You'll save yourself a shitload of money doing it yourself. I did mine with the help of a high school buddy mostly going off write ups on here. The only thing you'll probly have to get done by a shop is the strut assembly. If that doesnt make sense let me know but the two times I've had to get struts assembled I just took them to a mom and pop shop and they did it in like 30 minutes for $20.

if you've got a jack, jack stands, socket set, breaker bar, and a bit of patience you should be able to do it in your moms garage. If you get the rear shocks with the springs that'll be a PITA but strength through peril my friend

any shop you go to is going to charge you more than the price of parts to instal it

Pretty sure the tundra shock is different and will not work, the only reason the taco shocks work is because the tacoma and the 4runner are built on the same core components if that makes sense.

00-06 Tundra TRD coils and shocks will work for our trucks. I used to run these springs on Tundra Bilstein 5100 shocks.

The difference between the two is the top hat size. The tundra coils have a larger inner spring diameter thus the top hat is bigger. I learned this when i tried to swap my Toytec/Eibach 112620s which are tacoma coils on (smaller inner spring diameter) and had to buy new top hats. However, both top hats will bolt right up to the 4runner mounts.

If your looking to go on the cheap I'm assuming your trying to find a full strut assembly off of a tundra? This would net you probably 2" of lift.

I have a 2000 toyota 4runner limited that I would like to do some stuff to but I know nothing about cars. I want to put 32 inch tires on it and put some new rims on it. I plan on taking this off road typically on trails and some mud holes, just average stuff nothing crazy. I need some help figuring out what to buy though, I dont know what I need to do in order to be able to fit these tires and I dont know what products to buy or if I have to install all of this by myself or if a mechanic can do this for me. Please reply, anything helps!!!

Total: $572. I was pretty happy with it, and the ride is great! Definitely better than stock, and is what I would call planted. Especially with a little weight in the back end!

LC coils are the front coils off of an 80 series landcruiser that you can use on a 3rd gen to lift the rear end up.

Sorry im new to this form, but I recently bought a 96 4runner and want to lift it, but hear a lot about the panhard drop problem. As to witch side to put it on, the axel or frame side, a lot of people say dont do it on the frame side. Also i cant seem to find any LC coils around, does anyone know where i could find some? Or anyone have some they could sell me? Any info will help. Thanks - Adam

Tundra Strut Assemblies: $347.00 (parts were cheap, $80.00/side, but shipping to Canada killed me)

LC 8 wrap Coils: FREE (should be able to get some used for around $100.00 pair)

Rear shocks: $110.00 pair (Skyjacker 2.5" lift shocks)

Diff Drop: hard to tell, got it with my previous lift, but Diff drop kit from Toytec retails for $29.99

Toytec 3/4" Top Plate spacer. $60.00

All in all, my cost: $546.99 (including shipping to Canada)

Should cost you: $460.99 (plus shipping)

He is doing tundra front struts. The land cruiser shocks are to match the rear 7 wraps or supertech coils.

I would say going the Tundra/LC route is the cheapest for a good ride. The setup that is sitting in my garage cost me $450.

You dont want LC coils then. They'll give you anywhere from 4-6" of lift in the rear. OME 890's will give you about 3" in the rear & then maybe TRD Tundra coils w/ Bilsteins in the front on the lowest perch for 2-2.5".

I agree with Scramble, above. Sounds like the Tundra coil lift would work well for you.

Does it matter what year for the Tundra Coils and Struts? I am looking to do the Tundra front and FJ80 Rear Spring set up and I have a line to get 2000 Tundra front suspension?
