3 lights at once ? Cmon Man

So the VSC OFF, VSC TRAC and Check Engine light came on all at once.

Came on at the start, and it is obvious that in driving that the handling in off.

Anyone ever had to deal with this or have any ideas on what to look at first ?

2002 SR5 with 167,000 on it. No modifications. Had it a little over a year. No major problems, good clean running 4runner.

I have a 2003 and I had the same issue. I read about it here I think and this is what I tried and it worked.

1. replace the gas cap. The seal could be worn out creating the gas tank to lose pressure.

2. unscrew the negative lead from the battery then re-attach.

Worked like a charm

Take it to an auto parts store, borrow the code scanner, and see what it tells you. No need to guess.

Anytime a check engine light for the Engine module ONLY is set, the VSC lights will come on indicating that those systems are disabled.
For example, the check engine light can come on without the VSC lights coming on, but it will be for say, the transmission.
In your case, since all three came on, it is telling you something is up with your engine, and NOT the VSC systems.
Let me clarify further. Fixing the check engine light (or clearing the code) will cause the VSC lights to turn off as well.

Mine did this exact same thing a few hours ago - all 3 lights at once. 2002 SR5 w/ 144k miles. I've owned it 2 months. I guess I'll go to an auto parts store and get it scanned like was suggested.

I am always surprised that most people don't own Code Readers. I mean the handheld units are dirt cheap these days. Sh1t there are even apps that just require the purchase of the cable itself.

It is normal for all three lights to go on for something as simple as an O2 sensor.

Read the code per earlier advice and google it. You can clear the code if you want but you may lose the data. the lights will go off and the trac/stability will be turned back on. This may fix it forever or only for a few minutes/miles, depending on the issue.

Same thing happened on my 2001 SR5. Checked it with Torque pro(and my Samsung Pro 8.4)
and the code was for a small EVAP leak. I will take a look at the gas cap(simple things first)
and if nothing looks obvious, put a little vaseline on the cap seal and move on. Worst case scenario, a new gas cap.
