Hmmm....interesting.....just called a large dealership here in Mass (the one I go to is a small dealership). They took the time to look it up and confirmed they are regular plugs. I called the dealership that did the work, called the parts desk and they said they are regular plugs as well.
$490 = a call to the service manager tomorrow.

I am at 30,300 right now. appreciate all the information and tips. found Amsoil for $11.30 a quart in Palmer AK and Mobil 1 for $8.30 a quart. Will run the capacities by the Toyota Service Manager. Friendly and happy to compare specs on his computer. Might get a free filter next time.

I'll be at 30k at the end of the week. I put on 5k miles in about the last 6 weeks. As some of you know I'm commuting to school to take summer classes b/c I transferred to the engineering school at my university and playing catch up.
I put about 700+ on per week for the entire summer sometimes almost 1000+ a week. I dont mind it at all except for the $100 in gas a week.
I took the dipstick out and the oil still looks clean. Not black at all even after 4.5k on Toyota motor oil. People have ran tests on the oil out of the V8 and find it to be VERY light on oil.
For 30k I plan on getting oil/filter change which I get for free anyway and change the front/center/rear diffs. Ill get Amsoil 75w-90 for $12 a quart and my dealer said they'd change it for about $90 if I provide the oil.
$90 for Amsoil is nothing when it has 100k service intervals IMO.

WOW, I guess things do cost more in Alaska.
My 30K Maintenance cost me about $258.
Granted I replaced the engine air filter and cabin filter myself (parts cost included above). Also had them skip the tire rotation since my snow tires were going on shortly after the maintenance service. My 4Runner does not call for Spark plugs or coolant at 30K. The dealer did the oil & filter change and the shaft lube and various "inspect" items.
Did have them replace the front differential oil, rear differential oil and transfer case oil since my 4Runner does a lot of towing as part of my 30K service.
My Toyota dealer is great about doing exactly what I ask them to do. That way I can do the simple filter repalcements, etc. and they do the rest.
