30k Service / Toyota Care

I bought my 2011 LE T4R back in October 2012 with 26k miles and when I bought it, I got the Toyota Care Plus maintenance package which I was told would cover all scheduled maintenance up until 55k. Usually I don't buy stuff like this, but I figured because this would include all the 'fluffy' stuff at each of the intervals as well as oil changes / tire rotations along the way, 700$ didn't sound bad.

So I brought in my 2011 LE for its 30k service yesterday which I though would be free as a result of the Toyota Care, but the service guy said it would be upwards of $350 on top of the included oil changes included in toyota care. Looking through what was included, it was a ton of inspections and then replacing spark plugs, none of which was included in Toyota care.

I called toyota care and they confirmed that the 30k service should have been included as part of the package I bought so I called the service department back and told them that all of this should have been included as part of the maintenance package I bought. Has anyone else had any experience one way or another with this? I am regretting buying this already....

Also - the service manager just called and said that the spark plugs in the v6 dont need to be changed after 30k in my car, the toyota interval is 120k and this was mistakenly included in their 30k package......

$350 for service at 30k miles/45k km? Really? Wow. I've had my Jeep Wrangler for 60k km (over 40k miles) and all I've spent money on is oil changes and tire rotations. I did get the $100 brake cleaning in summer 2011... and I still have the same pads/rotors so other than that nothing else.

Is this normal? Not looking to spend this kind of money on routine maintenance for a NEW vehicle! What the hell are they doing? Everything should be under warranty.

Tighten nuts and bolts on chassis and body

Replace front differential oil (4WD)
Replace rear differential oil
Replace transfer case oil (4WD)
Tighten nuts and bolts on chassis and body

I did get the $100 brake cleaning in summer 2011... and I still have the same pads/rotors so other than that nothing else.

The $100 brake cleaning? Your kidding right?

Your dealer is stupid. I just had my 30K performed with Toyota Care. It cost me $0, oil change and tires plus the rest of the stuff, no plugs though.

I don't know the proper term- but they re-grind the rotors so they don't wear warped + the cleaning & inspection. Anyway- still running the same brakes over 60000km so I thought it was worth it. It was included with the oil change so I think I paid about $120 with tax.

30K service

As long a your rotors are not already somewhat warped there is not need to turn or resurface them. All you do is take off more surface and make them thinner which means you wind up replacing them earlier. Basically, if it "ain"t" broke don't fix it.
