34x10.5 BFG AT KO2, anyone run them?

Actual ride height with 40-45psi and all the equipment I'm running is about 32.5"-33" front and rear respectively. Keep in mind I'm weighing in at 5680lbs as it sits.

Thanks! I was thinking they might ride in that neighborhood. I weigh in similarly and my 285's sit at about 32.5". I was hoping to pick up some clearance versus my current setup and that doesn't sound like it would do it. I will probably go with 285/75's considering this. Thanks again

Most of the reports i've seem from people with the 34s mounted, show them around 32.25" tall. BFG tires do seem to measure small. Below is a 34 next to a 255/80 17, the 255 is listed by BFG as actually being .2" short than the 34" tire (33.3" vs 33.5").

Trying to decide between these or the 255/80 Cooper ST Maxx. I do like that the BFG is D-rated, although it's listed weight is more than the cooper??

Not sure how you are measuring. Definitely over 33" diameter. I would say 33.5 is pretty accurate for that tire.

Maybe unloaded and unmounted? I dunno. I've never measured one, just going by what i've read elsewhere.

New to the forum and new to the 4runner. Just bought a 2016 trail from the dealer i work at. I'm about to install a 3" lift and was planning to run the 17" SCS SR8 wheels. Just wondering if a 34 will actually fit with that lift with only minor stuff done to the fender liners or if i would have a lot more involved. I want the truck to function off road so im not wanting to go so big in tire size that i cant use it.

Man honestly with a brand new Trail and a good lift, chopping your plastic and body mount just to squeeze these on isn't worth it IMHO. An extra ~1" tire diameter wouldn't do anything to add capability when compared to a 33" tire. I wouldn't do it, especially on a brand new ride. Maybe throw on the lift and some new tires, then consider upsizing when you need a new set of tires in 40-50k miles if you still want it. Just my two cents.

That's what i'm saying. The Jeep guys have been saying it since the 34s have been out. Hell, even the 35s i had on my JK only measured 33.5" when mounted. :yuck:

Well they're about the same height as 295/70/17 tires, and still slightly taller than 285/70/17 KO2's.


Also just .25 shorter than 285/75/17

285/75/17 will be larger than the bfg "34s". I run these and you will for sure need a BMC and 3/2 lift. Great tire size though.

Define Bad. I get about 15 mpg with being re geared to 4:56 gears. Prior to that I was at about 13.5 mpg. However, I carry quite a bit of weight even empty

I have the KO2s in 285/75/17. They are definitely bigger and wider than the KO2 34s. I only have 1.5 f and 1 inch r cornfed lift spacers for my TRDP. They clear fine without doing a BMC. I removed the front mud guards, pushed in the front liners, and trimmed a little on the driver side bottom wheel well with a box cutter. Just stuff that you can easily do. I cannot say if this set up will work when off roading. But if you are mainly driving on city and highway, you would not have any issues at all. The KO2s run small, so therefor they are lighter than other tires. 285/75s KO2s measure 33.9 inch in diameter and about 32.75 when installed.

Not bad at all, I could barely tell when switching from stock.

I don't like the tires though, personally. Depends on what you're looking for. I love them off road and they do great in everything except for rain, but since my rig is also my DD, I'm looking to get different tires next time. I slide all over the place in the rain and I just need something with better wet-pavement traction considering 90% of my driving is on the highway.

With the V8 I get 14.9 combined MPG's stopped mattering once the front and rear bumpers were installed. I went with the Falken AT3W's since they are snow rated.
