35" Pitbull Rockers and Camburg UCA's en route!

I wish you luck. I am running a 2 inch BL and 315/75/16's and i trimmed the fender and pounded the firewall back about an inch. I can still get it to rub under full compression.

Making 35s functional for off road w/o a body lift will be a lot of work. You aren't gonna be able to just get away with trimming and pounding. You'll need to do a full tub. You'll run into a few problems with the rear too. Like having to deform or cut holes out of the inside fenders and you'll be rubbing the gas fill tube really bad. Make sure you don't rip the filler apart.

I definitely recommend just getting a 1" body lift and then you can get a way with pretty minor trimming and pounding like I did. Take a look at what Scuba on YT had to do to the front of his taco w/o a BL.

Wow, looks good Jon! How does it sound at a full turn, lol?
I hate BLs too, but it looks like you're gonna have to do a full tub remodel all the way back to the front of the doors w/o it.

I refuse to go with a BL too, but I'm scared to go any bigger than 255s on mine... which still rubs a tiny bit when really ringing her out (only up front on the lowest part of the back fender). I'd like to go to 295s for my next tire, but I'm just too afraid of all the consequences.... but you are giving me the courage to possibly attempt it!

Are you running a top plate space on your coilovers?
Hopefully your CVs do alright, don't forget to keep us updated on the "How may CVs have you borken" thread! JK

Tire and wheel combo look bada$$!!!

Just curious, did you ever upgrade your brakes?

The entire reason for the 17" wheels was beacause of the tundra upgrade. Worth it, I guess. Cost alot more than originally planned but safety firts.

Tundra upgrade is a necessity when going with 35's - that's for sure. I can't imagine running around on stock brakes with that much unsprung weight rolling around.

^ Yeah it's like slapping a bag of mash potatoes with my foot.... .

I dont know about anybody else but the tundra brake upgrade it one of my favorites, and I felt necessary for 33s... I cant imagine 35s.

Think about it: Lift the suspension up 1 extra inch raises the entire truck, chassis, engine, tranny, etc...uses up precious downtravel, puts more strain on ball joints, CV's, etc, stiffens the ride....

1" body lift just raises the body which is relatively not that heavy, and gain your clearance without cutting up the entire truck. What cons are there really?

There are a lot of cons to a large BL like a 3". It puts more stress/leverage on the body bolts and raises the CG of the truck. But a 1" is a good compromise IMO. Your suspension won't be maxed out and ride harsher (like putting top plates in will do). And I've been running a 1" for a couple years now and it hasn't given me any negative effects whatsoever, even through a lot of hard off roading.

low and slow is the way to go, hey that rhymes!

That's it man! I mean hell, once the BFH, cutting wheel and welder come out, why go higher at all?
My suspension is already maxed out as far as I'm concerned, CV angle gets pretty extreme at full droop. No more lift period! Just slowing down a bit has cut down on my repairs. I had this thing chugging along at the speed of smell through mud holes in 2hi down to 400 RPM she'd crawl out with no problem. Sounded like an old tractor! Yeah stock 4.30 gears still.

This is a great way to fry your tranny fluid and the tranny too. The torque converter doesn't lock up at that low of RPMs and the slipping causes heat. You may not need 4wd but you do NEED to be in low.

Yeah "Nasty" pretty useless right now. I need my flex back. Gonna have to go with different rims with less backspacing. These have 4.5" and the only ones that I can find with 2.5" are the Procomp Rock Crawlers. $97 a piece from 4Wheel Parts. Then find someone that wants these wheels. Any takers?

New UCA's are in finally! I don't need new wheels after all. They have plenty of room. Very easy install and great hardware, good welds, just very clean pieces....for now.

Original destroyed UCA's. The outermost portion is what I had to grind out just to clear the sidewalls to bolt the wheels on. The rest of the missing paint is from the slight turning radius issue. Yeah I know it's bad
