35x12.50 on stock yota wheel?

Hola! Don't know if this has been asked already BUT..
I know it's possible to run 12.50s on the stock 15x7 wheel but does anyone know if it will rub on my IFS set up? (the arms, etc)
Any pics would be great, too!

I think you may have rubbing issues on the upper control arm because of the ball joint spacer. But dont quote me on that.

I ran 35s on a similar back spacing wheel, but not stock, and If I would have had Bj spacers, it would have been rubbing on the sidewall of the tire.

Thanks.. I didn't think of that when I got BJ spacers.. but looking at how close my 33x10.50s are to the control arms already.. oh well !

I can almost guarantee that a 12.5 with stock backspacing and ball joint spacers will rub like crazy between the sidewall and the control arm. And I wouldn't want to lay any money on 35s fitting anyway, with just 2 inches or so of lift...

I was just curious, and also this summer the fenders will be trimmed a bit due to rust growing, getting fender flares.. so wanted to explore options of larger tires, just 'cause I can.

Just got done readin on yotatech and wow! Forget that, I will stick with 33s or find narrow 35s LoL.. gotta think about the front end components too, and how short their life span will be with them heavy 35s.

What I can tell you is that a 285/75/16's rub like hell with bj spacers and stock offsets. Thats almost an 11.5 inch wide tire. I know because I'm waiting on some spacers as we speak because of about a 1/4" groove in the sidewalls.

12.5 is no way. You can grind off a little of the crimped lip on the UCA and get up to a 1/2" more clearance but even then, I don't think a 12.5 would fit. Personally just too tight with that much money on the line.

It looks like you have your answer but I can tell you without a doubt that they will not work. I ues 33/ 12.50 tires on my rig and ball joint spacers and the stock wheel I ues as a spare with my 32/11.5/15 on it will not run in the front. I can only use it on the rear. I even had issue with 235/75/15 on the stocks when wheeling they would rub. Also I would not try 35s with out a suspension lift of some sorts. I can fit them on mine and don't due to the abuse on the IFS it's a good system for mid level wheeling ( in my option sorry ) but 35/12.5 are very heavy even on aluminum wheels. Hope it helps sorry for being long winded.

I agree with Pisa, 35s are almost too much for stock(ish) toyota IFS. It is a whole lot more mass to be spinning vs a stock tire. If I were you I'd stick with 33s. Less strain on your rig and still plenty of tire to go wheeling. :cheers:
