3d printed cupholder for early 3rd gens

This is a custom 3d printed cupholder for an fj80.

I saw this and someone with a 3d printer needs to get on this for the 96-98 4runners.

I’m currently designing a cup holder for a 3rd gen in my engineering class. There isn’t enough room to set up the cup holders like the above picture. Especially if you have a manual. Below is the design I have started.

pretty awesome that your high school not only has classes that focus on things like that but have the means to make it. The closest thing we had to an engineering class in high school was drafting class. It really would have come in handy during some of the labs in college to have had previous experience in the shop. Interested to see how the progress goes!

Got a little further along today.

Here is a overview of the entire cup holder:


Here's a shot of the bracket system that is connected to the cup holders themselves:


And then here is where it slide into the actual bracket that is connected to the side of the console. Basically even with the shifter.


And thought I would add a little 4runner touch to it. It will be extended out about .1 inches from the side:
