3rd brake light on with park lights

I just got an 01 sport. I noticed the 3rd brake light comes on with the park lights instead of the brakes like it is supose to. Anyone know what might cause this and how to fix it. Thanks

Not something that would happen normally do to a failure that I can think of. Is there anything aftermarket wired in anywhere?

(jwaldz here) looks like you got a good response over at TTORA after all. I'm sure someone will know some more here as well. It does however sound like a short somewhere.

Check all your bulbs. Good chance it can be either:
1.) you have a single filament bulb somewhere that should have a double, or
2.) you have a double filament bulb that started to blow out but wound up fusing to the other filament in that bulb.

Basically, you have a circuit that is completing through one of your bulbs.

check that and the trailer harness can do some goofy stuff if its got problems
