That's a great deal, but the springs aren't quite right. They should be coded yellow/yellow, yellow/blue. Not sure what kind of lift (if any) you'd get from these. They should technically fit, though.

See the two dobs of paint on each coil? In the CL ad, they are red/yellow and purple/yellow. Again, I don't know this color code, so I can't tell you what (if any) lift they will provide.

While those are not the y/y b/y that most of us use, you can still use those. I remember someone else using them and gaining 1", maybe 1 1/2". If you got these and paired them with 906s, you'd be set. If nothing else, the ride would be better than the high mileage stock you have.

I used 2WD TRD Tundra front coils but everyone else have used 4WD TRD Tundra Coils. All use Extended Studs w/ some HDPE 3/8" Top Plate Spacers and the lift amounts are almost IDENTICAL. The added weight on my rig is about 100# MORE when compared to a stock runner, yeilding about a 0.20" drop in my ride height overall. The conclusion is that the 2WD TRD and 4WD TRD Tundra Coils are essentially the same when installed on a 3rd Gen 4runner."

Just reading through that thread a bit and I am more confused... Can I just drop these in? Or do I need to add a spacer or swap out the top plate to get them into the 4 runner coil bucket?

Also... I know the thread is old, but what about this: 1. OEM Toyota/Bilsteins - color yellow/blue , labeled with both the Toyota and Bilstein brand names - comes as part of the "TRD" or OFF ROAD option package. Toyota part # 4851009350 (front) & 4853109141 (rear). Toyota price about $150 new (set of 4), often about $125 on eBay (set of 4) YOU DO NOT WANT THESE.

I didn't read the entire thread but did someone mentioned Iron man lift?they have a nice kit with spring and shocks for about $600.if your on a budget it's worth considering.:thumb3:

You need to reassemble the tundra coil/strut assembly using the 4runner top plates with the tundra isolators on the tundra coil/strut assemblies in order to drop them in.

If you add a spacer on top of the tundra coil/strut assembly you will need to replace the studs on the 4runner top plate with longer studs.

Would be good for people looking to keep it close to stock, and if your price estimate is close, then it'd also be cheaper than running a full OME 881/906 setup.

I don't think anything was installed wrong, I called them and they didn't know how much lift any of their coils give on a 3rd gen. Sounds like the guy on Yotatech was heir guinnea pig?
I have read the same thing on their Tacoma lifts, 1.nothing in the front and 2.5" rear.

That's unfortunate. Yes, it does sound like he was their guinea pig unleashed onto YT.

Why 2012? There are a ton of lift options available for the 3rd gen. Sorry but I just don't get the point in making it difficult. This thread has so much info and people never read it. There are some of us who have already tried different options out on our rigs to see what works and what doesn't.

Maybe they do fit.......but why go to the trouble when there are so many other options. Not meant to be rude, I just don't see the point what so ever.



AND........about the ironman lift, someone posted its $600 so that's good for a "budget" option. Full OME kit is $699. Do yourself a favor and spend the additional $99

no way no how... they are about 7" too long, i bought a set of brand new(less than 300miles) trd bilsteins off a 2009 for like $30 from a guy who just wanted them gone(he lifted his truck), anyhow yeah it was a wasted $30... the didnt fit, but i ended up selling them for like $50 6 months latter. dont waste your time or money

I know everyone says not to get a spacer lift but i am short on cash and dont want to wait. If i got the 2.5inch daystar spacer kit along with the 2 inch toytec body lift, would it work? Also what all would i need? would i need new shocks? Diff Drop? New coils?
any help is appreciated

Jeez I've searched the whole forum all day. I'm 100% ready to start work on my 4Runner. I can't wait. BUT I can't find ANYWHERE where to buy LC coils. (oh and don't say craigslist, locally there's next to nothing I need...ever) I'm thinking 8 wraps...and other questions will follow as each is answered.

@ Kenny: No body lift. 2.5" lift is fine to clear 285's. The rest is up to you.
