How many sq ft did you use of Ensolite and the RAAMMAT? This is certainly on my list as there are a few stereo items sitting around the house ready for install.
Are you planning on doing the entire vehicle, or just the doors?
Look at the first part of my post, as it'll show how many packs of the stuff is needed for each.
- Each pack of BXT II (sound deadening) is 37.5 sq ft
- Each pack of Ensolite is 14 sq ft
Let me know if you have any questions about the stereo install! I had to do some modifications to the doors in order to get my speakers in (6.5in up front and 5in for the back).

I did the rear doors/speakers tonight, this thread was a HUGE help! I wasn't sure if I wanted to tear the plastic membrane off, but your link to the door DIY was great as well.
The speakers are just some Pioneer 3-way 5.25's, but with the sound deadening they don't distort at all when cranked up. I'm just running the speakers off the deck so I didn't expect much, I don't listen to much loud music these days, more podcasts it seems.
I did just the inside wall of the doors, the Krown oil treatment I got does the insides of the doors, so it would have taken forever to clean the oil off to get it to stick, and would defeat the purpose of the oil.
I duct taped a rough section of the FATMAT material onto the door, and used a marker to mark where it needed cut to fit, made it easy to get the rough shape you need.
The doors have a deeper thud when closing them compared to the front doors now, so that's a good sign as well. I'd like to get rid of a bit of highway noise if I can, I get quite a bit of wind noise from my window visors on the highway as well.
I gave the carpet on the door panels a good scrubbing while they were off as well. Snapped a few pics along the way:

Looks good man!
Will try and pull my doors off this week and snap some photos so you all can see my finished product.
I was so exhausted by the end of it, taking photos was the last thing on my mind.
Definitely recommend getting some of that Ensolite to help with the road noise!
did you ever get a chance to measure your decibels?

I am looking at the above and the total price is coming out nearly 400$. 2.5 bundles of package 1 for the matts? And also same with the ensolite.
I noticed you had said it costs 300$-350$ but it seems I would be paying well over that. How many BXT II mats total did you buy? The bundle is about 37.5 sq feet. do i need 2.5 bundles? 93.75 sq feet?
Im pretty stoked about this thread. I am currently replacing the interior carpet and would like to do all of this during the same time to have a great end product.

I did a LOT of research before purchasing raamat. Every one was recommending it over any other product, for the quality and thickness of the material, and the price of it. I can agree, that its the best price per quality out there.
Don't expect an insane difference where its dead silent in the cabin now, but you should notice quite the change.

Would you say the 1 - 10 list the guy at RaaMmat gave you would be a list in highest to lowest priority? I can't spend 300+ on materials, but definitely want to do the doors, rear hatch and rear cargo area (it resonates like mad).

I've been sound-deadening my doors since Sunday with RAAMaudio BXT II and ensolite (sticky back). I ordered 1 order of BXT II (37 sq ft) and two yds of ensolite.
I got 20 sheets of BXT II (11.5" x 23.5"). I used 5 sheets on the front door and and so far two on the back door. One, MAYBE two more for the back door. So 9 sheets to cover one side, 18 for all four. That leaves two sheets leftover to go crazy. I have taken my time and squeezed in as much as I could: inside the outer skin and inside the inner skin. Even covered the access holes to help seal it for more bass from my Focal Speakers that I'm installing. It's been highly recommended to put an 8x8 or 12x12 sheet of ensolite over the BXT II behind the speaker to reduce resonance.
The 2 yds of ensolite came in one big sheet 56 x 72. I'm going to blanket the entire door using the vapor barrier as a template. The vapor barriers are 22 x 30 and 22 x 26. That means I can get a back door and a front door out of the width and use 44" of the 72" length. Still enough for the speaker squares and then some. I paid $175.76 which included shipping to Missouri.
I have an RTA app for measuring frequency. The non deadened doors produce a sound that tops out about 3k hz. The deadened doors about 2k hz. That's with the door panel removed and no speaker or adaptor in the door. They feel very solid and have a dull thump when you rap the outside of the doors with your knuckles. Well, we all know what they sound like stock! If you do it right, it takes a good 4 hours per door. YMMV

I'm in the process of doing my rig. Since I need to save up for a locker I'm trying to think of ways to lessen the total price. So my question to you gents is this:
Has anyone used yoga mats as a sound deadener?
They're made of closed cell foam. They make them in a 3mm thickness which is just under 1/8". They're 24" x 68" which comes out to just over 11sq/ft. And I live in a yoga rich town and can get them from the used gear exchange for a few bucks a piece. Given all that info they seem like the perfect choice for this application. What do you guys think?
The .8 mil butyl will be here on Tuesday. So will my new speakers. I have time to order auto specific closed cell peel and stick but I'm going to the gear exchange tomorrow to browse. lol
