it worth noting that the link SteveMcqueen posted points to the website of an Amorsol dealer.

The vehicle tested has a super charger. if you have a non-aspirated V6 then the results do not apply to your truck. Also the k&n filter used is a simple $40 drop-in type and not the $275 CAI type.

Good dyno info for those in the SC crowd though.

Good point. I know It won't have a huge affect but it couldn't hurt, I hope... Brian what yr is yours? And with the k&n do you have any check engine lights or problem with it?

I have a 97 4Runner and the K & N cold air intake kit fits fine. I dont know how it compares to the deckplate mod, I bought it before I heard of this site.

I haven't had any CEL issues but I am always careful not to use too much oil. it really isnt that difficult to clean the filter twice a year. I would say 1/10 the diffficulty of an oil change.

the parts and model numbers are listed on K&Ns website along with dynos.

other solutions might be great as well, this one has worked for me.

99 MAF work on a 97 intake?

The 99-02 intake will not fit on a 96-98 unless you also buy a 99-02 style MAF sensor.

Just to clarify. Will this injen intake thats made for a 99 work on my 97 if I buy a 99-02 MAF sensor?
