3rd gen Aftermarket wheel thread

I got my Level 8 MK6s installed last week with 265/75R16 Bridgestone Revo 2s and like it a lot. For some reason I get just a tad of rubbing on the back of the driver side front. ONLY the driver side, not the passenger. I'm gonna put a 2" lift on mine to fix that.

I'll post pics later, but it looks great.

Revo 2s are finally shot after almost 60K miles. I was thinking of making a wheel/tire change and Googling 3rd gen 4runner wheels brought me back to this very thread......over 9 years later LOL

I really like the look of [MENTION=117128]cblock406[/MENTION] setup but will probably send me down a rabbit hole of body lift, more suspension lift, 4.88 gears, etc. Lot of work for a truck that doesn't see much off road time.

Test fitted some 285/75R16 BFG AT KO2s at Discount Tire yesterday and they rub both the front fender flare and the rear mud flap.

Was gonna go for Cooper AT3 4S tires but they said Goodyear had bought out Cooper and to expect quality to decline. They recommended Nitto Ridge Graplers instead.

Your 4Runner looks AMAZING and those tires fit it well. Mine sees too much highway time for mud tread though. I've almost convinced myself to try a 285/75R16 and bump my front lift an inch to fit them. That's also sent me down a rabbit hole trying to determine how much lift I might get moving the Tundra TRD Coils up a perch (or 2) on my Tundra 5100s and if it would still ride nice or be too harsh. I'm at 2" of lift now and seems I'll need 3" to clear the 285s. Wheels are Level 8 MK6 16x8 0 offset 4.5" BS which seems to be the sweet spot to fit.

Time is money for me anymore so I may just throw the sink at it and get some Icon coil overs so I can dial it in once and be done. Looking in to those now.

If you are happy with the suspension and ride, I'd look at doing a 1" body lift instead. It's a pretty easy install and I think you'd get more benefit than raising the suspension.

Well, maybe both LOL. I was thinking 1" BL but read some posts about them making the truck noisy/creaky/jarring or something?

A BL will leave a gap between your bumper and body - just something to keep in mind if you hadn't already.

Pretty easy to just adjust the front bumper brackets to eliminate that I think. Rear bumper is attached to the body so no big deal there.

For sure - I thought I saw an aftermarket black front bumper - maybe I was looking at the wrong rig photo. Not much you can do in that case.

Newbie looking for offset help

eBay has Vors wheels (replicas of Rays TE37’s) in a 16x8 with a -15 offset. Our 98 is stock but we plan to go up 3” and eventually run a 285/75 16. I know this is asked a ton, but will I have to trim a ton to avoid rubbing with that offset? It’s a 3.91” backspace.

Super random revival, but I just got a set of these. Are you still on stock wheel studs up front or did you need to swap to extended ones? Just broke a wheel stud and seems like the last owner had extended wheel studs for the wheels he had on it, but as I buy a replacement I'm wondering if the motegis fit on stock studs.

Thanks! I appreciate it! Do you use ET lug nuts or just normal conical seats? The studs just seemed so short in comparison when I picked them up from the dealer is all, going to install them tomorrow. Also while I'm at it, do you have the TBU? Am currently not running it but wonder if it'll affect anything at all when I choose to upgrade

Not sure what ET lug nuts are, splined lug nuts with conical seats part of package deal. No TBU

Appreciate it! ET lugs have some thread that sticks past the conical seat for extra engagement inside the hole that the stud comes out of. That makes it simpler though! Finally found time to put the new studs on this week so thanks for the confirmation!

I found a set of scs F5 one of my favourite wheels on the market right now with almost brand new 265/70/16 At4W and he's selling em at a steal. The only thing is its the -25 offset 16x8 with 3.5 BS. Im hoping to do a lift soon but for the time being its gonna be stock.

For anyone that goes 4wheeling, I think their Bead Grip line of wheels is a pretty solid choice. The Bead Grip design allows you to run lower pressure than a regular rim will allow you to do without breaking a bead. They're basically a nice option to running full bead-locks.
