3rd Gen. Burn Out

Wow! Holy thread bump! I posted that over 10 years ago! :jaw:

I'm sure he tried the burnout sometime within the last 9 years.

I've since moved on to cars that are a little bit easier to do burnouts with, although I don't think I've ever really tried one haha :biggrin1:

I had a feeling you'd revisit this thread 10 years later! After 10y x 365d = 3650 days of constantly checking this thread day after day I figured you would probably want to know! I'm glad we all could provide some closure.

Haha, but that's awesome you still get on here periodically. Do you know what happened to your 4runner since you got rid of it?

A friend did a brake stand in a late 70's matador 454. While we were instructing him on how to do it, a cloud of smoke began to accumulate behind him... and then he streaked away in it....

If you are going to do some work on your breaks and tires anyway... DO IT!!!

Just take some picks for us....

TUTORIAL...

BRAKE STAND...

ROMP ON BOTH BRAKE AND GAS AND WAIT FOR ONE TO 'BREAK'...

ENJOY THE SMOKE!!!

dudes what are you even talking about.....
every one knows that the only runners that burn out have the 3.0 in them
come on

I didn't get rid of it by choice. It was totaled when someone ran a red light about a year ago. It was about to hit 200k miles and I had just done the timing belt on it for the 2nd time a few weeks before.

It was replaced with a 2011 4Runner, Limited 4x4 as well.

Pics of the carnage. You can see my nice auxiliary transmission cooler and custom bracket help up ok!

This is the oldest thread I have ever seen. Didn't know forum went back to 2004. Anyone know when it started?
The guy that started it probably married, had 2 kids, divorced, remarried, and then retired by now.

Depending on how grippy your tires are, i have had the best luck holding the brake all the way down and giving it gas then letting the brake pedal out like a clutch while flooring the gas
