3rd Gen @ Hard Notched Customs in Vancouver,WA

I was checking out Hard Notched Customs in downtown Vancouver,WA and they had a silver 3rd gen waiting to get the new rear bumper with swing out and front bumper with Oregon plates. Is this person on here? The bumpers look awesome. and they had 2x6 boxed sliders installed. I wish I had taken pictures. If you are on here let me know I have a couple questions about the rear spings you are running.

I talked to the owner and he's a pretty cool guy. He makes some beautiful bumpers. And the prices are extremely reasonable. I'll be getting a front bumper from them in February for a birthday present to myself
 
I would call them back and have them mention to the customer to join our site. Kind of like..." We had another customer in here the other day and thought maybe you should check out T4r.org. it is a forum for 4 Runner enthusiast and can meet other T4R owners to wheel with." Hell even give them your contact information to pass on.
 
Wow! I have been looking for some good fab work in the area and these guys are literally 10mins from my desk here at work. I'll be stopping by at lunch. :D:beer:
 
I went in at lunch and talked with Matt who I assume is the owner. Super nice guy. If you look up their website, you will find that they do a lot of plate bumpers (even kits that you weld yourself). The bumpers look great (a bit heavy though) and they offer color matched bedline-type coatings if that is your thing.

I think The Kid rolled up just as I was leaving, didnt get a chance to introduce myself though unfortunately.

i did, that was me, and Matt is a super nice guy, prices are totally reasonable too! he is totally willing to work with you(the customer) to meet your needs and wants, as well as make the best product available at a very competitive price. he will be making my rear bumper when its time.

motohead, your runner is nice and clean, but needs some mods:hungry: chop chop



all and all for us in the PNW this is a very viable consideration for just about anything, sliders, bumpers, ect. i got to take a look-see inside their shop and they appear to be very capable and love toyotas! -though they will work on just about anything you bring to them. they are about a month out at this time he said but thats really not too bad considering.
 
Mods are coming. I'm going to take in some ideas for sliders and see if we can agree on a price. I'd love to jump on some bumpers, but "practical" things like sliders and skids need to come first, oh and installing the lift sitting in my garage :D

well if you need a hand installing stuff let us know, there are plenty of us here in the portland/vancouver area. one thing i noticed that got my attention was his big black dodge, the sliders on that are just welded to the frame, no gussets of foot plates, if you do have them make you some sliders make sure they do gussets and foot plates rock-slider-gusset-225.jpg it will help spread out the weight or force on the frame, dont just let him weld the bar butted up to the frame. i have not seen anything else that they have done sliders for, and dont think that he wheels that dodge too much if at all, so id hope thats not how all of their sliders are done, but just to be sure.

Hmm, that is a little conscerning. I was hoping I wouldn't have to evaluate everything about their designs, but that makes me wonder a little. I'll go talk with Matt and see what he says for himself :what:
 
My Addicted off-road bumper got painted and bolted up today. Hard Notched Customs did an awesome job on the matte black bed liner. I can't wait for them to start my front bumper.

I've seen the sliders they weld on rigs that are meant to be wheeled and its fine work. 2x6 boxed sliders that could drag several 4runners and not budge. Go down there for yourself and look at the work he does. Especially the exo'd yota's with SAS. And ask about the monster in the back.
