a 99 limited 3rd gen with 4x4 with RR DIFF LOCK and 1gre would be the cats ass for me. Wife has a 4th gen with the V6. That motor is sweet and I think will be just a reliable as the 5vz. However the 4th gen just lacks the mini truck feel.

Just another scenario where book value is just that, a number in a book... Someone may want to fill them in on this 20k number we seem to have landed on

I agree, not to offend any of my 4th gen brothers, but I do prefer the 3rd gen (and 5th gen) feel over the 4th... All great trucks though in their own way

Overall, I think the loyalty I have to the 3rd gen developed due to years and miles of reliable service (it's simple, tried and true and keeps getting better with age).... I'm in the market for a 5th gen for my wife, while I love that truck as well, it's gonna have to prove itself over the next 200k miles before I give it the same respect (I.e. its got big shoes to fill)
